I think used Wild Hide leather sourced leather is actually better than plastics. I agree with your stance as well as a vegan though I'm an omnivore. I have a pair of PLIII, RAIII, GBIII now though looking into more boot options for winter. Thank you.
Magna Forest ESCs have toooo thick sole thickness for my use too. Overkill for me, living in the city. Should be used on a mars rover too lol. most mental soles I've ever held
I agree 🙌 I owned a pair and didn't spend enough time on the rigorous ground they are meant for, so I sold them on. The Magna FG in this video have a more subtle sole suitable for average terrain, but can also be worn in "intense" scenarios too so they are the perfect in-between for me 🙏
Yeah, I find the the Forest ESC sole really shines in mud or snow or looser dirt. Just like Mud/Snow traction car and truck tires, the lugs need to be much deeper to grab in the deeper loose layers. The FG sole is sufficient if you never end up in those types of terrains. I recently found myself walking 20 miles through the loose stones of varying sizes of a desert wash and along 20 miles of sometimes very soft sand with a backpacking pack on my back, and the Tracker Forest ESCs were sublime.
I suspect that many (not all) shoes on ReVivo are ones people have tried for a bit and then returned within 100 days to Vivo which they obviously can’t then sell as new. The existence of Revivo is probably how Vivo can offer the 100 day returns. So they are more or less new, just tested by someone else first. I have the same model and love them.
You make a really good point! I had totally forgotten about the 100-day return-guarantee, and that's actually how I bought my very first pair over 2 years ago 🙌
I'm wondering if these would provide sufficient support to, for example, play tennis or basketball or the like. I understand that there are limitations to the benefits of having a barefoot shoe if I size them such that they squeeze my feet a little more. But, if I did, do you think that the materials in the upper (and the connection between the upper and the sole) would stand up to the rigors or constant lateral motion that occurs while playing sports like basketball and tennis?
i wouldn't play basketball in minimalist shoes. been there done that, not only are you at a huge disadvantage, but it hurts lol. i go with a brand conversemakes that's somewhat minimalistic for basketball. close to a zero drop, but not to the extent where it's gonna hurt ya or kill your lateral movement.
The term "support" is a so-called need coined by the conventional mainstream shoe market. Being as close to the ground as possible, allowing the foot & toes to move as freely as possible, send better signals to the brain (which is virtually impossible in bulky footwear), and having a wide toe box is as close to healthy feet/body as we can be. Granted, manmade surfaces nowadays are not what we once used to walk on, however shoes with an inclined heel, lots of cushioning ,narrow toe boxes and "support", are dreadful for our feet/toes/body, because simply put, that's very far from how our feet are supposed to operate (which also affects our balance & mobility and makes us more prone to injury). Conventional shoes weaken our feet and inhibit the natural receptors in the soles, leading to more "unnoticed" injuries... being as barefoot as possible allows you to be better in tune with your body and not push it because your feet are deceived by excessive cushioning. The last thing you want to do is squeeze your feet/toes into a restricted position and then expect your body & feet to function at an optimal level... Shoes that aren't foot shaped and bulky allow you to push your body to a point it isn't happy with. Imagine balancing on a pole, you'd want as much surface area of feet gripping as possible and that's what our feet were designed to do - support our body and give us movement! Importantly however, zero-drop shoes, after a lifetime of wearing conventional shoes, do take time to get used to - you should transition slowly & gradually and carefully. Hope this helps 🙏
Hi, they were advertised as simple 'MAGNA FG' on Revivo but I have always wondered whether they're 'Trails' as there a lot of similar pairs on Revivo but sold under different model names, I wonder if the Magna has gone through a lot of stages but I would say these were definitely one of their oldest models of Magna FGS... Hope this helps and thanks for your comment/watching 🙏👣
Not really with these no 🙂 They are true to size, but in my opinion, better to be a half size up, than too small/tight 👍 Vivo don't do half sizes as far as I'm aware anyway...
I recently got this and have used it for about a week now - I developed ankle chafing on my left side unfortunately but this could be attributed to my imbalances of my pelvis (it is tilted). My right ankle was absolutely fine. Regardless, I would advise wearing high ankle socks for a bit of protection as the elastic material that closes off the ankle can be quite 'rough'. When walking it will rub against your skin. Other con I would say is that it can be slippery on flat wet surfaces so be mindful of that. Hope this helps!
@EqyptianRuler in my experience I would say they are true to size and not like the Trackers for example which you need to size up in - I am a UK 6 and I bought these in my size and they fit perfectly, they are a little snug with thick socks on though. However, saying this, now that I have been wearing barefoot shoes for 2 years exclusively, I am seeking larger sizes and/or wider toe boxes depending on the model/style/make, but that's just my personal stance and everybodys journey is different... Hope this helps and thanks for your comment!

Thank you for sharing 🙏🙂
@@redcurlvegan / Recently bought a pair of Tracker Forest ESC and Scott IIIs too.
Thanks so much, been looking at buying these exact same boots also in 'good' condition, found your review very helpful!
I'm so glad 😊 Pleased I could help, and I hope you enjoy them if you do get a pair!
Thanks for watching 🙏
Which shoes would you say are good for everyday wear? I mean in environments with roads and regular streets?

Hi,
Are these the trail ones?

I usually wear 8.5 do you recommend me sizing up to 9 please?

Personally I haven't experienced any cons with them 🙏 They're a great "in-between" shoe where the Forest ESC sole for example is too intense
@@redcurlveganare they true to size or do you advise going a shoe size up/down from what you are?
