I have searched so many different instructions/tutorials/videos of maps only to be disappointed and this is the best tutorial I have seen to date!!! It is the only one worthy of the movie/books. I absolutely want to be entered into your giveaway and that being said... I would love to see Severus Snape in the map, considering he has his own "special message" on the cover:-) Also, maybe Sirius Black's paw prints and/or Filch and his cat???

YES! Please keep adding new pieces to the map, yours is the best by far, as it is so expandable. With all the home time I'm getting, due to Covid, I'm enjoying all the Harry Potter DIYs that I haven't had time to do. But I had started to run out, until you posted this one. Love the extra detail. I’d love to see more additions of wizards. Would be easy to do if you printed on sticker paper. Then people could really customize where the characters are.

maybe for you too but you decided to share it with other people and get them a chanche to make the accurate map even if they aren´t talented in photoshop or sth (just like me) or if they haven´t money to buy one (like me)

Can you please share the 8,5x11 template, that still makes a full size 11x17 map? You mentioned that you also have this version, but I can't find it. First of all, thank you for your ideas, great tutorials and kindness to share your work and expect almost nothing in return :) I have seen some people asking similar question, but it hasn't been answered - I hope you, or someone else who can answer, will see this one.
Is it possible to print in on A3 paper format, will it work the same? It's hard to find a place to print 11x17" here, and if I did, it would probably be more expensive than original map.. :(

+xlxRKOxlx yes, you can print the 11x17 templates on A3 paper. Just make sure that you choose the scale to fit page (or similar) option when you print. It will turn out to be less about a half-inch smaller, but it won't be noticeable.

This is awesome! Me and my friend are planning on getting an apartment together next year and we want our living room to be harry potter teamed so we're definitively going to be making this map XD I think it could be fun to add some additional flaps with footprints but without names on them so fans could either photoshop or freehand names on them and be part of the univers or add other wizards on there
I actually really love this version on the map but unfortunately I can't print the templates. On the other hand, I've been making the map by drawing it. Yes literally DRAWING it. 😂 so it takes time and I never finished it until now and I can't just start over. It takes dedication and patience to do that already. But I intended on drawing footprints on it without them being hidden and all. And also the alternative opening of the map is a good idea so I'll add it.

i just made this using your templates! $5 to get it printed and about.. 6 hours to make? worth it!
i used the black and white 11x17 template which was a real pain. i ended up mucking it up a bit because the glue flaps aren't clear like they are in the colour version! it would be super helpful if maybe you could change it in the future?? i'd love to make this again and make it a little more perfect!! all in all, i'm so impressed and can't wait to show all my HP nerd friends :D thank you!

Hi ! Sounds amazing but how can we do if we live in countries with other measuring systems like here in France, we use the metric system and the centimeters for the paper, not inches... Would the A3 format paper (29,7cm by 42 cm) be adequate ? Cause I really want it to be quality so I'll go print it in a professional shop and I'm not sure it would be okay ?

+Roddie62 yes, A3 paper is only about a half-inch smaller than 11x17 paper. You can print on that no problem.

Hi Roddie62, did it work with a3 format. Did you have to adapt the pdf size by printing, or the original size? Do you still have the templates? I am a huge fan and i also want to do my own map.
WOW I discovered this just yesterday (as I got an official Noble Collection map for Christmas) and it's AWESOME job, thanks for sharing! I can't wait to make mine (yours), as well. As a suggestion, it would be great if you could fix the first page of the map (Jan Hamernik explains in his latest map comparison that the first page we see as we open the map is not movie - accurate). As others, I would also love to see Snape's footprints on the map, maybe Malfoy's too.
This is literally the coolest thing I think I have ever seen. I want it xD I recently had gotten a noble collection marauder's map and really felt like it lacked a lot of the details especially compared to the movies. This is definitely the coolest most detailed map and I am so glad to have found it. You are seriously amazing! and I would LOVE more extras to be added!!!! maybe Sirius and Filch would be cool :D

how big of a paper you need with the full size paper ?
11x17. A3 does aswell, but you will need to adjust the scaling in the print dialog to make the front and back line up

Yes, it's still there! Unfortunately Patreon doesnt have any way to search a creator's posts, so you have to scroll through to find anything. You can narrow it down by tags though. Select the tag called "Template."

Awesome additions!! Best Marauders map I’ve seen!!! Hmm suggestions for additions footprints?: Snape (intersepting hallway or office), Hermione (in library), Ron (in dormitory), Draco (in slyterin common room), Moody (in his office), Hagrid (on grounds or hut..if map goes that far out), Mooning Myrtle (in her bathroom), Cedric (in prefects bathroom), Luna (in ravenclaw common room), Weasley twins (in kitchens?)..... just some ideas 🤗

This is incredible. I am a Harry Potter collector and crafter (just for fun) and am obsessed with the Map. I have a Silhouette Cameo Vinyl Cutter and designed myself a cut file of the map to make into a dress. I have 4 versions of the map right now from different Harry Potter collections but this is super cool Thank you. I will make one for my Harry Potter wall.

This is SO AMAZING OMG!! I am so excited right now!! I think it would be really cool if you made extra flaps for the secret passages, like when the map "told" Harry to say Dissendium to the one-eyed witch or something like that, other than that I would really love to see some Professors, Lupin, McGonagall, Flitwick, Sprout and maybe even Sirius Black, that would be nice. Or more DA members lurking about the room of requirement, like Luna, Hermione, Ron, Neville, Ginny or Fred and George. Some Slytherins would be cool too :). Okay, I'm gonna stop now, I'm basically exploding with ideas what to do with this, thank you so much for the accuracy and inspiration! Oh and obviously I wanna enter the giveaway and I'd love to win this!

I got the scale a little off on mine somehow, so it's only about 3/4 of the size of the actual map, but I put it together anyway and it is still SO COOL!! Mine might be a little smaller than the Warner Bros one but it is way more fun to look at with so much more inside. Great great great job Danny!
