I wish, but no others. Only one other 14 in Ireland and that one comes and goes between the UK... She's fairly different to the 9er, very hard to compare. The 14 is just sheer power whereas the 9er is a bit more efficient. 14 is quicker downwind, and much more fun in every direction!
@@chrisbateman4194 Yeah I have the only Musto Skiff in Ireland, to the best of my knowledge. I've been trying to get more people into skiffs in Dublin for years. I loved the power of the 9er upwind but have always wanted a crack at a 14.
@@peterdoherty876 Whenever you are down in Cork then, feel free to come for a sail! Likewise- I've always wanted a spin in a Musto. I have a Contender, tucked away but she needs a new deck. Too many projects at the moment so can't get around to it til next year.
@@porgiesplays6655 The 14 pulls better downwind then the 9er, as it has a way deeper kite. So she'll soak almost dead downwind with full power. So I can get away with just slightly wiring in the 14, in the 9er you don't really have any choice but to just go flat out all the time due to lack of rocker/flat kite/ nowhere to sit etc
Great video
Any other 14s down in Cork or is it just you guys? How does it compare to the 9er?

How sensitive is the steering on the rudder
The faster you go the more sensitive it gets. They are high aspect foils which means at very slow speeds you tend to lose steerage.
On the downwind are you sailing vmg or just on course??
Whatever's fastest, but was keeping it low in the video so vmg there
@@chrisbateman4194 couldn't you head of high and then get apparent wind and head lower to get vmg and skipper on the wire like on a 49er?
