A cool year with a fantastic stage and unexpected results. Here's my top 10: 1. San Marino: love this one it's just dreamy and nostalgic, definitely Valentina's best moment for me 2. Sweden: always liked this, it's a typical song that I like, very nice buildup and really emotional 3. Austria: really solid song, great vocals 4. Norway: also really emotional 5. Slovenia: well I actually love this one :P it has a really special sound 6. Spain: I remember being upset that Brequette didn't make it in the Spanish final, as I think it would've been a contender. Ruth did a fantastic job though at the end, and made me love her song 7. Israel: it has grown off me a bit in the years but still greatly underrated 8. Montenegro: fantastic instrumental and soothing song 9. United Kingdom: my pre contest favorite, has grown off me a lot, still a solid song though 10. Portugal: ultra guilty pleasure here, it's always my jam when it comes on Not many other songs that I like in this year, barring Albania, Ireland, Switzerland and Denmark which are all pretty nice.
Hungary is my number 1 too that year. I agree that the overall quality of the songs in 2014 was not the strongest, but that year more than makes up for it with great stagings and fair results, at least in the final top 5.
