  • Gamification means to use game-design elements in non-game contexts by adding a ‘play flavor’.
    In adult learning processes, gamification has proven to be an element that allows adults to fuel their imagination, and boost their creativity and problem-solving abilities. It basically makes the ‘hard stuff more fun’ motivating learners and making them more engaged with the learning matter.
    Learn how to use gamification in your offline or online trainings with these 10 simple ideas!

    I'm sooooo hyped about this! I'm going to be giving my first presentation on a topic, and "gamification" was selected! I didn't even know what it was until I walked out of a meeting just 20 minutes ago...and then I found this video! I'm more excited about it now that I've seen this video! Soooo many ideas swirling in my head! I need a nap!

      According to science, a nap might do wonders for knowledge retention. So go ahead 😴 let the Zzz’s rip! 🤩

    Hi Irina, thank you for releasing that topic. Actually, I have some teams who would like to have the element of a game during the training (platform functionality). Would you suggest any free apps or tools ( or not free) which will allow me to gamify some part of training? I have been using only Kahoot for now. Thank you!

      There are quite a few tools out there. It really depends on what you need. Some tools that I have used are Paddle and NearPod. But you can also use Miro or Mural. Again, it really depends on what you’re trying to achieve.

      @@TheLnDAcademy Thank you, I will check those I didn't use before :) Basically the boring instruction how to work with platform should be transformed into the engaging training :)

      In that case, you don’t need a platform, you need Accelerated Learning by Dave Meyer. Check it out!

    I love this! My question is what do you do with people who eye roll and refuse to really participate?

    • @TheLnDAcademy
      @TheLnDAcademy  11 місяців тому +2

      Oh, the eye rollers! 😅 One thing I always do is to never use the word ‘game’. I usually use the word ‘activity’. It just frames the conversation differently and more constructively. Another thing is to always allow people to opt out and be observers. Usually someone who sits things out once comes around - the ‘fear of missing out’ kicks into gear 😉

      @@TheLnDAcademy apologies for the late response. like when they don't answer your question of what could be gap of learning a certain tool.

    • @TheLnDAcademy
      @TheLnDAcademy  Рік тому

      That’s a common problem. When stakeholders don’t respond, there is usually a reason for it. It’s advisable to look for ways (usually informal) to figure out what is the reason and then address that.
      If the case is that they don’t know how to breach a gap or what the specific problem to address is, then assure them you’re the right person to talk to, as you can help formulate the challenge and then propose alternative solutions for fixing it. They need to perceive you as a valuable partner, an experienced practitioner, who can help solve their pain point. Even if sometimes that means not knowing what they are.
      As to how you can do all of that - it depends on the channels of communication you have at your disposal (email, chat, phone, face-to-face, etc.), the level of trust between you and their personality style (you can look into such options as DiSC or the MBTI for more clarity on this topic).
      Hope this helps. If you have other questions, please let us know.
