A neat little unit. However, it is safer to treat with UV just before the tap so that there is no time for bacteria or viruses to grow. If you treat it as you’re filling your tank it may sit in the tank for several days at warm temperatures - giving any residual bacteria the chance to multiply through the whole tank. This is why chlorine is added to drinking water after the initial treatment process to prevent both to kill bacteria and stop further growth while the water is stored before use. Carbon filtration removes odour and taste contaminants whereas pure filtration removes particulates and discolouration. Only UV or chlorine removes bacteria or viruses. Should add that I’m a water engineer in the UK, not a random YT “know it all”.
And for alot of UA-cam videos like this where its obvious hes just an onseller with financial benefits, as the inline Australin made filter is back flushable/reversible,it removes bacteria, lab tests are available, the flow rate is up to 15lpm, obviously using commonsense slower is better, and the difference in microns doesn't double the filtration as stated, thats a whole lot of research to grasp,@@Gladius7
Mate, the b.e.s.t filter which you pulled the sticker off is indeed back flushable. It can also be purchased with brass fittings standard from factory that they make in house as the bunnings fittings contain lead. Bacteria is destroyed, not just sterilised such as with UV. And you can tell when it needs replacing as the water flow will drop away. They are in my opinion a better cheaper far more convenient option. Sorry mate but I'm not convinced by your infomercial.
Great review! I just ordered the explorer for my mog as I haven't finished the build yet. BTW old brake system you always need some professional help . I grew up with old vehicles ha nightmare
Whilst the initial investment may seem high, given the reasonable cost of disposables, ie cartridges, considerable cost savings over the life of the equipment would be made...I'm convinced
You say since it is fully enclosed and you can not see inside it except if it is inside that big black box it will also prevent visualization of what is inside.
From experience stick a crud filter on the intake hose end ...one that you can quickly back wash and rinse off, just to stop you picking stuff that would clog your pipes and pumps. The other piece of advice is deploy your pump to in advance to flush nano plastics and forever chemicals from PET and other plastics ... These are increasingly problematic globally ... In fixed infrastucture natural coatings build up and limit transfers. The latest research hower points to infants accumulating up to 2 x higher levels of nanoplastics in their bodies and guts. The recomended easy way of removing the majority is boiling in a kettle they get stuck to the scale coating the kettles base and walls .. Plastic Bottled water is more of a problem than a solution currently, as well as being a massive source of polution in manufacture, distribution and disposal. One more point but very soft water surface or ground is also more likely to result in higher levels of metals being mobilised.. This is something to consider in areas of igneous rocks like granites ...moorlands peat bogs and Conifer forests. Its not so long ago that areas of N Europe groundwater wells were renderd hazardous for use because of toxic metal leaching caused by acid rain overcomming the limmited ph buffering of surface and groundwaters. Al being one in particular...but pb Cadmium Copper and Arsenic are all common. Your great advantage is you are moving round so any exposure to a particular source will be limited . Meanwhile its important to have water in the diet that contains some important trace elements.. like Ca Mg Potasium etc that are normally responsible for coating the bottom of your kettle and taps with varying amounts of limescale .. so the trick is to find a balance and be prepared to modify your diet if your living with highly filtered water. ❤❤
Can i use the womo mini on my caravan? We dont use our tanks , we just connect hose to their water supply so i could connect the womo mini inline with the hose, thankyou
I’ve been round the houses thinking what system I’m going to use for our trip to Africa, because we have 2 taps, one inside and one outside I’ve decided to use a Lifesaver jerrycan. We will fill our water tank with ‘dirty’ water then fill the jerrycan from the tank on a daily basis and filter from that as we use it. Slight faff but the only real alternative is to filter before storage in the tank which I consider less safe. Filtering just before use has less risk than filtering before storage and then it sitting in a tank, you only need a small bit of contamination in your tank and you are then contaminating all the water you put in there.
Not sure if they make them but a double cored UV lamp would be perfect, one circuit to final filter the tank input water. The other to treat the tank water being pumped to any taps and shower heads immediately prior to consumption. There is a totally passive solar desalination system .... another growing global environmental problem that's been developed ..by MIT scientists that keeps itself clear of salt build up by using a micro version of the Stenohaline conveyor current in the worlds oceans. It fits in a medium sized suitcase and can produce @ 5 LTRs an hour in sunlight. If I try to put up a link to the development research paper. The dreaded UTbot will delete it. 🤷🏻.
Way over the top in price, I don’t doubt the quality, but it has severe limitations in Australia! Read the specs and it says for use on “ tap water” and no mention of lakes , streams , bore water or dirty rain water, so useless in my opinion. The kit is simply ridiculously priced at $2200, as you could buy 2000, 1 litre bottles of water for that amount and that UV steriliser is only of use if the water is IMMEDIATELY consumed as UV does not kill the nasties, it simply sterilises them but some escape and most are left alive and will die in days and pollute your water again Check out the facts as sadly this is not as good as it first appears, in my opinion.
It mentions "Filter and sterilise water from a fresh water sources (surface water only) Not suitable for water with high salinity level" so your comment isn't correct. We personally don't want to buy 2000 plastic bottles, not only it creates more waste but we also don't have the room in our vehicle. We have filters before filling up our tanks and before our sink tap so no nasties in our drinking water :)

Point five micron would be half of one micron. Either you misspoke or I'm missing you're meaning
It would have been great if you had a discount code

Hi You said it gets rid of the bacteria but what about viruses?
You say this system can be used on a boat, does that mean it is also a desalination system

We'll be back on Friday with some good news 🥳
Current price for the pump box is over 2 grand. These guys are having a laugh.
It's a premium product with a very high quality UV-C led water steriliser. The WOMO Mini is only $159
Can I use the womo mini as a inline filter for my caravan? We only stay at caravan parks, thankyou
Not all have plastic fittings and some can be back flowed, realise your promoting a product but you need to be clear with your facts
