Small detail almost everyone misses on this episode: the small girl looking at Viktor in the beginning is their assistant! Seems she's always been interested in the inventions of the lonely boy. Also in that flashback, the scientist that Viktor worked with was Silco's scientist guy in the first act, which is why his face is all messed up. It's funny that you say "surely your studies have amounted to something" considering his studies probably lead him to invent Shimmer.
Also I haven't find someone mentioning the fact that Mel is very distant when Joyce open up to her about Victor illness, almost to the point that I'll say she is not interested in the matter or Joyce himself.

I thought the implication is that Rio is what produces shimmer. Singed created it and saw it has special properties and now he keeps it alive for his continued work, kinda cold/mad scientist vibe but im pretty sure thats what his character is supposed to be
@@jmilla321 I have a feeling that it's the other way around, the flowers are the base for Shimmer, and in the process of keeping Rio alive he ended up creating what would later become Shimmer. Mostly because when we see Rio here there's only a few tubes connected to her, but the shimmer producing facilities are absolutely huge and the shimmer stored there exceeds what could be created if it was Rio. There's a second, much more complex reason, that has to do with Singed's motivation. For most of the unethical choices in the series, we know what driving motivation was behind them. Silco has his "Nation of Zaun", Jayce is motivated by keeping Viktor alive at all costs. Singed is an exception, he mentions "progress" but that's way too broad, and something tells me we don't know the full story there. We don't know his "dream". I think that his real motivation is unveiling the true potential of a human being, whatever that may look like. I think Rio was his daughter, malformed by his experiments in the search of her true self. "Nature has made us resistant to change. Thankfully, we have ways to change our nature." It's no coincidence that Rio was dying when Viktor met Singed, she was a mutation after all, so Shimmer was needed to keep her alive.

16:17 Yeah, he's the guy getting scammed in Episode 1. Vander had to sit with him in the table with the scammers just to make sure he gets paid. After that little moment he saw Vi and the kids going back from their failed mission.
I suspect that the reason why Mel didn't know Jayce and Viktor were so close despite paying such close attention to Jayce's career and progression probably simply comes down to the simple fact Viktor is from the undercity rather than Piltover proper, never mind a member of the noble houses (unlike Jayce). Meaning, although Viktor - as a scholar and inventor - is one of them, he isn't actually _really_ "one of them", if you get my drift.
Yea. I think she always thought they were in a Inventor and assistant professional relationship. Mel never realized that Jayce saw Viktor as his equal.

Jayce was true to character, his loyalty to his partner. Heimerdinger threatened the Hexcore which, as far as Jayce and Viktor are concerned, is the only path available to helping Viktor. And with that in mind Jayce pushed Heimer out, to keep him from his want to destroy the Hexcore due to his perhaps justified fears of it. Rio was in pain, but there's a difference between life, and quality of life, Singed, as he told Viktor, the mutation must survive, not that it had to live a comfortable, happy life. A bit of a parallel to how people look at life today in the real world, they seem to value quantity of life over quality, where death is an aberrant thought to be avoided...no matter the cost.
Heimerdinger is probably right, but he really needs to do a better job explaining why exactly using this eldritch deltahedron is a bad idea and giving some alternative solutions instead of shrugging his shoulders. Dude seems to have no concept how normal (and poor) human beings with short lifespans and very limited power see the world. Loving the reactions!
Heimerdinger is right about the hexcore, but Jayce is right about Heimerdinger's leadership. He can't die of old age so he can not make decisions that will benefit the people he governs. He might see ahead and think "oh these mining fumes that causes numerous health issues will be solved in 50 years time of progress", and for him that isn't a lot of time, but for Jayce, and the rest of the council that is generations.
Hello Teddy, I want to recommend you an anime that I saw recently and it's really very good, it's called "Grand Blue" it's a comedy, you're going to laugh a lot reacting to it, it only has 12 episodes. Sorry if I wrote something wrong, I speak Spanish and I'm still learning English
Jace is a people pleaser who doesn't have his own conviction, so he keeps doing what other people wanted. Mel planned to take control of the council using Jace since Episode 4, planting the idea in Jace's head that Piltover needed a new leader and putting him on the council. There are some nuances, but I won't go into them here because they are spoilers for Act 3.
Do you notice how distant she seems when Joyce is telling about Viktor illness, the facial expressions are very subtle but It gives me the vibe like..."I don't care about him nor you".
I don't think Mel intended for Jayce to become leader. I think her initial intentions were just to have Jayce become the lever of influence over the other council members so she could gain the majority vote, but Jayce wound up surprising her at first by turning what should've been 'under the table' deals into above board 'investments' and then later making the move to oust Heimerdinger. You'll notice in both cases, she seemed caught off guard as if he'd gone off script from what she'd imagined. In the midst of that she's grown to genuinely care for him, so that when he does make his play against Heimerdinger she is willing to back him. Putting him on the council was supposed to just fortify her leverage by granting him more resources and influence, but I don't think she anticipated him to outplay her, even if unintentionally.
@@Dilligff Jayce didn't come up with the idea of investment. Mel literally said he needed investment before that. Mel also told Jayce Heimerdinger was too old and Piltover needed a new leader long before Jayce ousted Heimerdinger. At most, Mel just didn't expect Jayce to follow her script so literally. Mel's attitude towards Jayce changed because of her own inner turmoil. She went from wanting power and wanting to prove herself, to wanting something more.
The reason you’re missing details is because you’re “reacting” and not just focused. It’s common with people who do reaction videos and need to act it out 😄
first off: loving your reactions to arcane. jinx told silco that it wasn’t vi that he killed on the airship. you absolutely could have picked that up. that being said: there is a lot of visual story telling, so there are some things you can miss if you are not watching carefully. [edit: huck is a named character from episode one]
Don't worry Teddy, I watch almost all of the reactors for this show and most of them stumble over the same things as you. I'm always tempted to put out the spoiler that the firelight on the cargo boat in Ep.4 isn't VI... I guess the show runners WANT you to think it's VI for a little bit in order to subvert expectations, but for most - it just seems to aggravate them.
I think they could have avoided it if the girl had responded with something like "Vi? Who are you talking about?" Or something like that. Just a little extra detail to clarify things. But I definitely didn't hate the scene, it gives you an idea of how disoriented Jinx's thoughts are when she gets agitated.
Victor is still on the right path i believe. Not as much for Jayce though. Also, as i played League of Legends, it gave me nic idea for what can be on Hoverboard, and i was right
After you read the lore and remember these crows... damm. The thing with this show is that those who KNOW the games and those who DON'T will see two viewpoints. Honestly? Knowing these characters beforehand kinda ruined some surprises and twists, kinda spoiled by just consuming League of legends.
I do find it ironic that you're so incredulous at Mel's lack of knowledge about the nature of Viktor and Jayce's relationship, seeing how many details you missed/confused yourself ^^'
Specially if u binge watch episodes .. which u seem to do (at least some of them) .. u need to connect the dots faster woman !!! :)) Also it was obvious that Jayce didnt know about the signature .. but covered for Caitlyn.
@@carbuneskinny5797 So I don't know her past viewing experience, but I find people who watch a lot of anime, which is more heavy handed in its storyteling, they kind of miss the subtext and the visual storytelling of this show. Like for instance in that Jayce scene, you can obviously see he fidgets and is caught off guard by Marcus's comment, and studders and lies to cover up the fact that he didnt know. But unless you're looking to pick up those things, then you can read that scene a bunch of different ways. All I would say teddy, is treat this show like a live action show. As if every facial expression and mannerism has a meaning, because it really does. For instance Jinx says THREE different times in Episode 4 alone that the pink haired girl wasn't Vi. All I would say is try and hang on every word in this show, because nothing is wasted. Everything is important.

A bit of a parallel to how people look at life today in the real world, they seem to value quantity of life over quality, where death is an aberrant thought to be avoided...no matter the cost.
8:17 Jinx is sitting in the same position as in episode 2 and drinking from the same mug.
Something i noticed about Mel that when viktor talks to her she doesn't talk directly to him but through jayce instead
14:36 that almost laughter lmfao
Trust me.Everyone likes Vicktor more than Jayce even tho he is supposed to be the "pretty boy"
It's the smolder.
That's because Jayce is at a point of ignorance, whereas Viktor is far more relatable at this point.
I don't
There's already a trailer for season 2, in production
It is a season 2, probably in 2 years though :)
Yes cait forged jayce signature.
And he's okay with it, because we all know how good he is at forging things, himself
3:53, youll get tested... lets see till jace is in the forge
3:49 literally every viktor simps.
I'm with the Viktor simps
They took both Vi and cait (those few last scenes are a bit confusing , its not a spoiler)
But wait! There is going to be a 2nd season in 2023.
👏
I do find it ironic that you're so incredulous at Mel's lack of knowledge about the nature of Viktor and Jayce's relationship, seeing how many details you missed/confused yourself ^^'
waiting for arcane S2 and aot next ep😂
C'mon teddy pay attention, your memory is better than this :(
NOH 👹
Ok I didn't want to start something like this haha
Nice
Oh boy... kkkkkk
You're so sweet.
Can you please react to 👉the lady of heaven trailer? The movie was shown in AMC Theaters in the US and it had a very long and successful run there. The next move most likely is for it to be shown in other countries and soon after that it will have a worldwide release via movie streaming platforms ❤️😃
Think u watch too much crappy anime. So used to bein told everything. Like when vi told cait about bein in jail u assumed that’s when we were supposed to know she’s been in there all that time. The second We see her in there is when we’re clued into that. That’s why I hate when people compare arcane to anime. Art and story wise it’s night n day
not the one with the Powerpuff girls pfp saying this 🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨
Nah I just don't watch stuff like this
abeg u can just speed right to a next reactor instead bec u cant get ur desired reaction here now u spewing bs as u expose urself how limited your knowledge are in other forms of media. Attack on Titan 8 episodes in IMDB top 50 btw compared to Arcane's *checks list* zero. That's superior, night and day story telling btw 🤷🏽♀️
