- Rare bit of footage that as far as I'm aware has never been shown on TV until very recently...
It's "The Alarm" playing live on "The Tube" from 1984 with "Sixty Eight Guns"...
It was recorded after the show went off air but the band kept playing and the cameras kept rolling and recorded this little gem. Kinda makes you wonder what other hidden gems are out there gathering dust on shelves in vaults that never get to see the light of day !!!
Sharpened up and redone the audio track which a bit tinny sounding on the original footage... enjoy... 😎
Early 80s Big Country, The Alarm, and U2 is tough to beat.

I always remember this gettin single of the week in Sounds mainly cos Blind Ambition by the Partisans came in 2nd...far better imo...
Even after stopped transmitting
It was something that happened quite a lot on "The Tube", the band that went on last would often continue playing for the studio audience after the live transmission had ended but they keep on recording them until they finished their set...
Unfortunately most of these "extra" recordings never seen the light of day until the past couple of years and have been left to gather dust in the vaults. Just a pity that on the few shows that play them now they have some prat talking over the top of them at the start... still good stuff though... 🙂
Always had a wee thing for Oor Muriel ;) Half the feckin ozone layer was destroyed just by this band's hair spray by the looks of it. Great see performance though.
Dunno if Oor Muriel would have been impressed by your wee thing or not Hujands to be honest, if she was anything like just aboot every burd I knew growing up in Glasgow than rest assured she widnae be shy in letting ye ken...
Yup, those hairdo's while damaging the ozone with all hairspray also had a side benefit, they sheltered as yet unknown wildlife that wouldn't even be found in the likes of the Amazon, twas a double edged sword I suppose... 😃
