Fascinating, I didn't realize there were so many nuances with the Jori, in terms of types and designs.. I thought they were all the shape of the nail Jori
Dear sir, Here is my DIY Gada. It is entirely PVC and loadable. With sand only, it weighs about 4 kg and just heavy enough for my level. I imagine it would be a safe 14 kg if loaded with pebbles or gravel. Ok. I would have shared a photo, but I guess that is not allowed. Ok.
Dear sir, Great idea. Wonderful channel. What would you say about a DIY jori made of 6” pvc with a filler weight? I have made smaller clubs and clubbells, but I am concerned that the surface friction of the pvc may be too much to be used as a jori.
How much do the heavy joris weigh? What about using a hardwood like ironwood or mahogany? Thank you for continually sharing your passion for club swinging.
You can make Jori from any type of wood. However you have to learn to swing them first, and I would suggest 10kg up to 15kg to start with. The heavy Jori weigh 20kg, 25kg, 30kg, 40kg and I have seen one pair at 50kg per club.
Interesting video seeing the differences. Never actually tried swinging Jori, will have to give it a go sometime! On a separate subject, have you ever used a Kanabo? I've found one place in the UK that makes them. Not sure if they are easy to source in Australia. Thought that might be interesting to try swing.
Hi Alexander, If you try Jori, don't go heavy 10kg to 15 kg max. It felt like I was having a fight with two telegraph poles when I first started. I looked up Kanabo, never tried them, they look very interesting.
Thanks for the in depth explanations. For me it all looked same until you pointed out the differences. I have just started with my clubbell journey. I'm just practicing some basic swings and mills. Do you have any suggestions on how I can put it into a program?
@@Wolkowinski Hi Paul , I live in Canada. Any recommendations? I looked at your site and did not see any contacts to the Persian meels other than the Iranian guy who sold me a pair and one of them fell on the ground and the handle shattered
Paul, thanks Jesus Christ you are healthy and well to begin with. Jori is an illegal Persian Mill copy. Seems like the Indians wanted to make Bastani their own, hence the variations. BTW, your Joris look immaculate. No offense Paul, what's with the lines on your feet? You look like a foot Tiger, lol.
Hi Vic, yes I am well thank you. I have a different version of what you said quote "Jori is an illegal Persian Mill copy" The Persians say they invented it, the northern Indians say they did, the southern Indians say they did, the Pakistanis say the did. And I say they ALL did because they all share borders, and every area has their own version of club swinging. Regarding my feet, I walk a lot in sandals at the moment and the marks on my feet are Australian sun tan.

Great work buddy , love from India
Thank you Paul for sharing your knowledge of the Jori. And your templates are the best I have seen. Kudos mate!
Looking good! Glad to see you still out and about.
Thanks for the ideas!
I'm definitely still around, currently recovering from shoulder surgery. Can't wait to get swinging again.
Thank you for making this informative video and for sharing your templates. 🙏🏽
Glad it was helpful!

It is a surpising learning curve Chris, and I'm sure more info will come out of the woodworks with time.

Hey Sam, I think that you would be safe to try PVC as long as you wear a T-Shirt to protect your shoulders. Don't go heavy to start with.

Hi Chuma, you must focus on basic swings and mills until you can do them blind folded. It is really important to commit the movements to memory.
@@Wolkowinski Thanks Paul. How often would you recommend to practice clubbell movements per week?
Hi Paul do you sell Persian Meel clubs ? I would to purchase the best type, that is most sturdy and durable
No, sorry I don't. Where do you live? Have a look at my website for contacts.

Just kidding of course. God bless and be well.
