    Thanks for making this video. Very informative. I was a little surprised you were waitlisted by Vandy and rejected by UCLA and NWU. Your package was definitely good enough to get into them. It proved again that college application is unpredictable.

    Hey man, thanks for the video. I’m currently a sophomore in high school and I’m thinking about doing a BS/MD, and I stumbled across your video. I actually do a lot of the ECs you do (xc, indoor and outdoor) and I’m also Chinese with a family background in medicine. My question is, how do I stand out as a candidate? I’m taking dual enrollment classes at my local community college, but my school is very competitive when it comes to GPA. I’m also lacking medical job shadowing/volunteer hours, so I was wondering how/when I should do that. Thanks again for the vid

    • @leonzhaoo
      @leonzhaoo  Рік тому +3

      Definitely get some clinical experience. You need a good essay and personal story about why you have decided to pursue medicine as a high school student. This is the main factor that sets your app apart

    Thank you! I'm applying next cycle, and I would love to hear your opinions on applying ED to Brown and if it might increase my PLME chances? Also, I haven't been able to shadow during hs especially because of covid, will this drag down my chances significantly?

    • @leonzhaoo
      @leonzhaoo  3 роки тому +7

      Applying ED might help your chances because it's a binding decision. I think the acceptance rate is higher on average but the people who are admitted are still equally qualified. I don't think shadowing is required, but make sure you have experience in medicine that can answer the question of why you should be admitted into plme.

Also, Due to covid 19, I didn't take any sat/Act exams, but my total GPA is high and I had took a wide range of courses, including biology, math, chemistry, physics, and geology in addition to other public courses which were offered like history and social sciences.( I have all As, except in math).
