Giddey is fine hes just on the wrong team. Much like dejounte murray his value is in having the ball and he was never going to get that in okc. They cant afford to keep him anyway.
I predicted Giddy struggling this year and J Dub and Shai elevate. Josh I’m still a good player, just a poor fit, I believe he and his agent simply need to start looking for other teams
Nothing wrong with Lonzo..just injuries.... yes he has flaws but he is/was an above average nba player...starting caliber. Just like Giddey is. Same with Ben Simmons. Just because you are not an all starr, borderline all star, or elite, doesn't make you a good useful above average player.
Giddey will have a great career just not with us. He doesn't really fit in OKC anymore. He's a playmaking specialist and he's not great at anything else. He was always compared to Ricky Rubio which is what he probably will become and that is a guy who NBA teams will always want. In OKC we have Shai as the lead guard and all the other guys can pass the ball so having a guy who only offers passing isn't really needed. What we need from our 2 guard is just floor spacing and defense which he doesn't have but Cason Wallace does have in spades so he's the future 2 guard of the team. But teams that do need a playmaking specialist will love him. If he was on the Spurs right now for example he'd be a god there running plays for Wemby. So he's going to be fine when he moves on.
An L take. Most kids get drafted at 21 and he will have 3 years under his belt buy then. While he is better with the ball in his hands, he has to fit in and around sga, and that's what they are learning while still being a top contender in his 3rd year. You also forgot how many last second inbound passes to easy buckets that he creates, leading to Ws or OTs that they wouldn't have without him. OKC is just fine and has a bright future with their list.
Fitting around SGA isn’t gonna happen. He doesn’t have the skill set. It’s not about age. Hes your primary ball handler or you are better off giving the minutes to someone with the proper skillset to play an off ball role, with shooting and defense. You are just forcing a square peg into a round hole. He won’t be a good nba player unless he’s on a team where he’s the primary table setter (assuming he also develops a decent shot)
