We had this game hooked up inside an old station wagon with an adapter and a tv in the back back, from Midwest to cali. Out of the blue, my younger brother said the words, "Poopy diarrhea" and we burst out laughing. That was Utah. I hardly got to enjoy the scenery because of this game.
When playing as a kid, I always heard 14:39 and thought "She's a maniac, maaaaaniac" which also reminded me of Chris Farley dancing while being covered in gas while Rob Lowe looks on and asks if he used to eat paint chips as a kid. What a time, what a time.
when i was a little kid my Dad broke his ankle and was off work for like a month or two and we would wake up early every morning and play this game together, was so fucking fun..
It was only yesterday I would take turns with my cousin Joe playing this game on the Sega Genesis screaming for dear life when the Velociraptors would jump out! Still remember the cheat code for the last stage: cvvut6ep Thanks for the nostalgic feeling!😭👍
Holy!! The map music was too dramatic, scary and amazing as a kid, it left me staring at the emptyness, so serious thing. Its still amazing. Would be great to know the notes of those arpeggios. JP Rocks.
I could never beat the Pump Station as a kid. I should try to do it again. I loved this game, my cousin let me play it. One of the few times he wasn't being stingy.
That level is complete fuckery for both characters.... As someone who's tried to beat this as a kid, teen and adult it ain't happening. A fun but bullshit hard game lol
amazing soundtracks! i love it! 🥰 I made my own sound version which is intended for subwoofer speakers because I like the music of this game a lot 🍫🍫☕☕🍹🍹🍸🍸
Pump station is the best, altough you can tell this uses the Western sound tools sega gave out, so it sounds like all American games, Ecco used these tools best in my opinion.
Yeah, it's the GEMS kit. A lot of those games use the same FM patches so they become kind of noticeable after a while, but they're also kind of nostalgic for the same reason. Interestingly, Ecco doesn't use GEMS even though it sounds like it, it uses the Novotrade sound driver. However the Novotrade sound driver and GEMS seem to have a common ancestor, Spider-Man vs. The Kingpin, also on my channel. I would love to be able to verify it, but from disassembling and looking into the code of the Novotrade, GEMS and Spider-Man sound drivers it seems like the Novotrade and GEMS drivers are different "forks" from the Spider-Man driver. The end products aren't all that similar but both share similarities to the Spider-Man driver.
Still love the creepy Game Over music. And how anyone can dislike the Visitors Center or River music is beyond me. GEMS has a simplistic tone that I like for some songs. Also loved it in Zombies Ate My Neighbors, despite everybody loving to hate it.
I'm familiar with the Map Music through a sweet remix on OC Remix. Man, I still remember the days competing ports, especially with Jurassic Park. I mean, who doesn't want to blast dinosaurs? The best part is, whether on the SNES or Genesis/Mega Drive, you got kick ass music. Dave Evans's score on the JP2 is nutz. You Win *(Unused)* - it was that hard, huh?
LOL. It's a tough game. My favorite tune is the Visitor's Center theme. Sounds kind of derivative, but really cinematic and action-y. If that's a word. This is one of those Genesis games that sounds like a Genesis game, but I like that.
+DUSTINODELLOFFICIAL Yes. It's super hard, but actually fun. I also love the Visitor's Center theme as well. I remember this game and unlocking the menu where you can select a level and choose a character.
I love this game but I've only managed to complete it once a few years ago as the Raptor... it's definitely more difficult than Rampage Edition. (Though Rampage Edition is much better IMO. Both are great games though...)
I need to do Rampage Edition too. I liked it better as well, but it was more of an action game. Which is fine, but the 1st JP has a "survival" feel to it, you have to do stuff the "right" way or you die.
I always thought the music of this game was a fucking mess. I still think it is, but the nostalgia of one of my favorite games for Sega overcomes my disgust. Thanks for the upload!
Visitors Center theme is the most badass and best. i love these themes. they dont make games like this anymore honestly. People play the same games as they did a decade ago, nothing original out.... People still play call of duty and GTA lol, kinda sad. not as much original stuff like sega genesis made.
Anyone else ever put Grant in the Raptor's last level, where you fight Grant? The game crashes violently if you make the player Grant touch the boss Grant lol
I'm guessing Langrisser 2 is on one of your uploads, right? (Please! I've been asking for centuries. Not that I don't appreciate your uploads, you're doing God's work for keeping the Genny alive in peoples minds)
lol I was just thinking about that. "Oh, there's that guy that wants Langrisser 2..." I do plan on doing it but I need to get my flash cart set up first. These last 3 games are physical carts of mine. I plan on getting the computer I use for flashing the cart set up this weekend. It'll be the first flashed game I do. Promise!
Any chance you're able to record this OST in the PAL/50Hz version? I may be biased because I grew up with it, but I think the Power Station theme in particular sounds more ominous at that speed. Given that you don't use emulators for these, I appreciate this might not be feasible...

Thank christ for people who still upload OST's for old video games in 2015.
I bid you good day in 2020 :)
My absolute favorite is the Raptor Power Station theme that sounds like Circus performance music ---> 06:10
You mean the video game gods
2022 what’s up Slava Ukraini, I wonder who will comment in 2027? And what will be going on? China stuff? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯?
Thumbs up if the game over music still gives you chills after all these years. o.O
it doesn't scare me... that much....
*shivers*
The pump station was always the track that creeped me out. Such an amazing OST.
You think that's scary? Look up the game over screen for F-22 Interceptor. Scared the BS out of me when I first saw it.
+Riflemanm16a2 That game over was nothing compared to this one.
+Tabitha Dickerson Yes, that game over was creepy as all get out.
It's the Map Music that gives me the most nostalgia. 💫
Visitor’s Center for me
@@eddymartinez7961 Best song in the game easily. My fav stage too.
"The raptors have a bone to pick with you"
Decades later and the map theme still gives me an unreasonable amount of anxiety and dread.
21:43 you’re welcome.
How does this music rock harder than DOOM (2016) The fucking sega had the best sound.
One of the best Genesis tracks ever, thanks.
Yes
Awesome awesoome!
@@iWhisperASMR You havent seen Contra Hard Corps yet, haha
The graphics combined with the music of this game are perfection. They definitely leaned into the creepyness of the film and I love it!
UGH it’s so good! Even just those first 4 notes right at the beginning makes me body shiver remembering how on edge this game used to make me!
💯💯💯💯
Damn, the Visitor's Center theme is still one of my favorite Genesis tunes of all times!
Amen!
@@DutchGuyMike thanks!
Running and kicking the doors with Grant with this music is great
21:42 Most intense music I've ever heard for a visitor's center!
thanks!
@@plyitagn
The music you made for this game made my childhood. Thanks for the memories!
sounds like man behind the mask by Alice Coop
This is the first game on console that my parents bought for me as a kid. I can see the sounds. :D
Same here ... I was in 1st grade .. Got a Genny ,Sonic 2 & JP . Best present Ever

Now that is a memory

this was always my favorite song in the game. kinda dnb-ish before i knew what dnb was
I always think of Fleetwood Mac's song "The Chain" when I hear this song lol.
when i was a little kid my Dad broke his ankle and was off work for like a month or two and we would wake up early every morning and play this game together, was so fucking fun..
I'm an adult now, and I STILL have this game, and Rampage Edition too! 💚
Me too
I need to get lost world on the genesis
The game that made me buy Sega Genesis.
It was only yesterday I would take turns with my cousin Joe playing this game on the Sega Genesis screaming for dear life when the Velociraptors would jump out! Still remember the cheat code for the last stage: cvvut6ep
Thanks for the nostalgic feeling!😭👍
Such a great soundtrack. The "Map Music" 02:50 makes me think of The Animals "House of the Rising Sun".
thanks!
Any time the T-Rex showed up and you didn't have a flash grenade left, you were lunch.
Holy!! The map music was too dramatic, scary and amazing as a kid, it left me staring at the emptyness, so serious thing. Its still amazing. Would be great to know the notes of those arpeggios. JP Rocks.
Thank you for the upload mad nostalgia. Best tracks imo gotta be sewers, river and visitor center!!
I could never beat the Pump Station as a kid. I should try to do it again. I loved this game, my cousin let me play it. One of the few times he wasn't being stingy.
the human campaign was best, Grants the man. i like the level where ur in the boat. that was so sick
That level is complete fuckery for both characters.... As someone who's tried to beat this as a kid, teen and adult it ain't happening. A fun but bullshit hard game lol
@@Guile_The_Exile IT was indeed quite hard!

Yessss Eccoooooo
Ecco is the best Sega OST ever, imho
The visitors center still gets me jacked!
I remember the game Manuel for this game,on the page describing the passwords....was an Actual password it got you the canyon level
Genesis had the best music
SAY-GUUUUUHHH! Fuck what a great game.
The pump station music always reminded me of Fleetwood Mac's song "The Chain". I would always think of that song whenever I made it to this level lol.
so much nostalgia!!!!!!!!!!!!

Phantasm in Mega Drive, can you imagine it? The song it’s seems
Masterpiece.
I was sure somebody had to upload this amazing ost lool thanks a lot!!
The map music always reminds me of House of the Rising Sun
+pectacon ahem
There is... a game... for Genesis
And it's called... Jurassic Park
Same! I thought I was crazy.
Same (2)
you know what's funny, is that Micheal Crichton (the OG creator for JP) wrote a book called rising sun
Pump station is dope
It wasn't the John Williams score, but it was still great music and fit the game well.
River music is so legendary
I remember that last level, 22:00 driving thru Utah. Parents were probably thinking, "Interesting."
Pump Station
This game was soo hard they didn't even bother to use the "you win" music.
Oh my GAAAODDD nostalgia spec
Love this game
02:50 damn the nostalgic feeling
the first roar says segaaaaaaaaa xD
my voice!
Also, like the new thumbnails ;D
Good deal, I'm not much of a designer or anything but I think having a zoomed in box shot makes the video thumbnails stand out a bit more
Not all the music from this game was rocking but lvl 2 and the sewers was awesome. Also the last lvl has them Beats
I got heavy shadowrun vibes listening to this, then I look up Sam Powell and low and behold.

Why didn't they put any music from the movie in this game?
Usually music has to be licensed separately. Sometimes they don't want to pay for it
