Hi, discovered your channel today. I love watching you transform the property. It seems like such a peaceful place. My wife and I have been working on a 15 acre parcel in North Carolina over the last 11 years. We too, have reclaimed overgrown areas with the bush hog and cleaned up around a pond. I only wish I had documented our process over the years. Well done. - Ben
Thank you. It's always a challenge when you have a project to do, to take the time to record it. There's a lot of improvements I've made where I said "I should have recorded that" but was too busy to stop and film. Glad you like the channel and thanks for the comment.
Pretty decent videos, definitely appreciate all of your hard work it would be nice if you could list of the cost of clearing the land unless you did everything yourself but if you subcontracted anything else what were the costs involved how much did the cabin cost as well. We need more details, nuts and bolts
Thanks for the comments. I cleared it all myself with a chainsaw and brush hog rotary cutter. Mostly sweat equity. As for the cabin, it was custom built by a local old-order Amish carpenter. I've seen other pre-built ones on the internet selling for around $28-$30 per square foot.
Nice property, you've done a great job. Might be worth the time to encourage certain edible wild plants to grow on your property. Things like Jerusalem artichoke, raspberry, blackberry, elderberry, nettles, and ramps, to name a few.
Hi. I enjoy watching your video's. I noticed that you have planted norwegian spruce. I have these in my garden in Dalarna Sweden. I wonder why you plant then in a row? Just curious 😊
Thanks for watching. My property line runs right through a field so I planted the spruce trees to grow into a natural barrier / "fence". I'm lucky as our local conservation office sells the seedlings for $1 each, each Spring.
@@HemlockRidgeUSA Ah nice ! I see. Yes, Norwegian spruce is perfect for that as it normally keeps its branches below. Another variety to use is giant sequoai...
Great progress you made in your first year. You have a beautiful piece of land! All the best! - Dave
Thank you very much!
Cabin looks great. Fantastic setting ;)
You’ve done an impression job of clearing the land to expose its true beauty.
What a difference a year makes. Thanks for sharing.
The boat works still🤣 jackpot
I was wondering about the update on this project. Didn't see it. Love this property
You are living my dream...keep posting!

...fantastic improvements in just one year ... congrats ...🍾
Wow!
liked your home though
Living the dream is right. Fortunately I can do that do here in NZ via my son and his family who are about to embark on a similar adventure.
Good luck on your adventure!
That's a lot of work. I've cleared land and it is back-breaking work. Then you have to dispose of all the brush, too. Takes time and energy.
Very true. Luckily now, it's becoming manageable and I can work on chipping away at the rest that still needs attention. Thanks for the comment!

What state is this?
Near the Canadian/U.S. Border. Thanks for watching!
Is that falls right on your property?
Yes!
