Question: the way I would phrase "I hope my plants will grow quickly," would be (and pardon any spelling errors): "Ελπιζω τα φυτα μου να μεγαλοσουνε γρηγορα." Would this also be correct? Or, while it may be correct, is it just not how it's phrased in Greece? Thank you!

What helps one learn Greek is to have a Greek speaker to talk Greek to all the time but if you dont have that then it is extremely difficult. Some say you would have to go to Greece to learn Greek better but when I was there Greeks only talked to me in English because My Greek was not that good. I can speak it but with a limited vocabulary, so that was no help. Either you talk to them in Greek only or non at all (they dont care to help you), plus you have to have a very good memory or you are out of luck. These thing are something language teachers do not tell you.
Good day,. i have kind of a random question so here i go. I am going to Corfu in september on my first ever solo travel at 47. Greece is my absolute favorite country to travel to. I am trying to learn the language and am looking for someone to meet up with for a couple of lessons as i am there. I am kind of a shy person but i know that if i want to learn the language i need to actually start talking. I am still in the beginner stages and would love to move away from that. Do you know of someone who would be willing to meet with me? It doesn't have to be a 'real' teacher at all. I will be staying in Gouvia, Have a lovely rest of your sunday. Juliette from Holland xxx
Have you considered online lessons? Not sure what exactly you're looking for if you need to learn but it doesn't have to be a real teacher. We also provide conversation classes (for beginners as well) where the vibe is more chill and it's not a "real lesson", but it's in groups and you'll need to know at least some basic Greek. You're more than welcome to join if that sounds appealing!
@@EasyGreekVideos wow that is fast haha.. I do not need to learn greek for work or anything. I just love everything Greece and would love to just be able to have small talk conversations (for now) Like i said i am kind of shy and i am not sure if i would have the courage to speak in a group in my own language let alone in one that i am learning. Where would i be able to find this group and what are the costs? Thank you for answering me so quickly.
@@jetjegoesdutch7933 We mention it in the video at 6:02. Right now it's at 18 euros per month + VAT (I don't know what it is for NL) and we offer three classes per week you could join (although now in summer the schedule's going to be a bit different). If you'd like, Marilena also offers private classes.

Very good episode. Thank you.
Great video. 11:38 at my house, we call a colander an "escurridor" in Spanish.

11:38 also at my house we call both a sieve and colander, a "colador" in spanish. Sometimes we call a sieve a "sedazo".
Excellent

Yes, in fact it's more common to use "μεγαλώνω", I just wanted to keep it simple.
