LEATA GALLOWAY - STRANGE FRUIT

Leata Galloway performs "Strange Fruit" in a tribute to Billie Holiday. Ms. Galloways first exposure to musical theater began with a high school production of Carousel. Then came an audition and a role in the landmark Broadway musical Hair. After two and a half years in its original cast, she moved on to other Broadway musicals, including Dont Bother Me, I Cant Cope, Rockabye Hamlet, The Human Comedy, and Golden Boy. She also portrayed Billie Holiday in Lady Day at Emerson's Bar & Grill and in the CBS mini-series Sinatra. Leata then moved on to Los Angeles where she earned rave reviews for her performance in Sophisticated Ladies.

It was never released on CD or LP and filmed as a promotional video only. This is an edited version as where the extended one has dialog before the song from the show "Lady Day at Emerson's Bar & Grill."
