This is my first in Golden rock #DieselLocoShed....Great experience... We cant explain full details of DLS/GOC in single video....
DLS/GOC is an Loco shed located in Golden Rock, Tiruchirappalli...
It is located north of #GoldenRock railway station, falling under Tiruchirappalli railway division.
DLS/GOC is the largest of the four locomotive shed under the Southern Railway zone of Indian Railways.
The foundation stone for the shed was laid on the 25th of December, 1971 by the then Railway Minister, K Hanumanthaiya.
The shed was open for operations in 1975 with a total area of 169,000 square metres (170,000 m2) and covered area of 19,600 square metres (20,000 m2).

There was a proposal in 2018 to create facilities at GOC to maintain AC locomotives in view of Railways’ plan to Electrify all routes by 2023. Present status is not known.
