- Mounting the new Rhodes 20-gallon fuel cell into the D21 drift truck. Second time's the charm! The old Rhodes 15-gallon fuel cell was cool, but this fits my needs better. Plus, I was a little unhappy with how I built the original mounting structure. So... I was able to knock both things out in one go!

this is the project that got me started on my drift hardbody journey. keep on going man, can’t wait to see this thing done
Thank you for the great video
Hi, This is my second comment, great video you are very precise. While I have many many clamps and many many tools, I noticed the benefits of the Bessey clamps and the Fowler deburring kit and I purchased both. Thanks.
Incredible job! Thanks for sharing.
I really Love this Channel coz Everything is Proper and Well Planned 🥰❤️
Progress! I love it!
Can't wait to see the driving review!
@7:04 the way you lined up the hardware, I feel like you know me.
Love the scissor jack, you make the little block on top with the rubber pad?
Those little pads came with my big air compressor.
Did you weld those bracket on to the tank or did it come like that?
Truck is looking good 👍 why did you choose to tap the angle that you welded to the cell vs using a pemsert or welded nut?
Gracias! I didn’t tap the aluminum angle, just drilled holes, deburred/chamfered the holes, and bolted it down.
Clean install, Do you have a link on that chamfer/deburring tool you used on the aluminum?
Here’s Fowler’s product page: www.fowlerprecision.com/524838880
They can be had for like $45 online usually.
Looks great! Why the straps?
Some peace of mind. If one of the aluminum brackets failed during an accident, at least there would be other means to keep the cell in place.
hey man i have a datsun 620 with a sr20det swap i’m almost at the same building stage you are, i wanted to know more about the fuel pump/system your running are you going to do a video on it or can you tell me when you get there? thanks and i hope you see this
Your timing is impeccable! Haha I’m uploading that exact video right now. Should be live in a few hours. 😎
thanks for uploading loll i look forward to building a similar fuel system keep up the awesome work i love ur videos
I noticed that you mounted the fuel cell "sideways". Does that affect the fuel delivery at all?
The hanger is in-tank style with a Holley Hydramat. The two ports on the bottom will remain capped and only used to drain it if needed.
Also, to answer your question, yes it would be an issue if I was using those ports for fuel delivery. Typically you want the ports/sump towards the rear center of the vehicle so when you’re accelerating, the fuel is being sloshed to the rear preventing fuel loss.
@@Inner_Sanctum Thanks for the response. Great build.
