I hate to be that guy but: I recently installed farmOS to better understand if it fits our requirements. Once installed it dawned on me that there is almost zero guideance on how to actually use it from seed to harvest. For instance, I get the data model, but I fail to see how I properly wire all the entities to reflect my seed, seedling and plant stock. Is there any chance for a future "farmOS 101" course or materials made available?
Here is a recent blog post that might help: farmos.org/blog/2022/getting-started The user guide might provide some good information as well, although it is also general: farmOS.org/guide And the best place to learn and ask questions is the community forum: farmOS.discourse.group But you're right! We need more tutorials/guides/etc! farmOS can be used for many different types of operations, so we need help writing guides for specific use-cases. It is built/maintained/documented on a largely volunteer basis - all contributions are welcome! 🙂
This would be a great question to raise in the community forum: farmOS.discourse.group - Please start a topic there and then link back to it from here, so that others can find their way in the future. 🙂
Yes! There are some in the community doing this already. It requires hosting the imagery on something like geoserver.org and pointing to them from a custom farmOS module that adds a layer to the farmOS map. Join the forum, chat, or community call and we can point you in the right direction. Links available from farmOS.org/
@@farmOSorg Actually I am overwhelmed with the information, I just want to add drone image as additional layer in the base map. If there is video tutorial or blog on how to achieve this, it is very appreciated.
@@mfauzi4357 There isn't a tutorial/blog about this specifically, and doing this will require getting your hands dirty. We welcome community contributed blog posts too! If you dig in and want to share your lessons with others, it would be greatly appreciated! We are a community of tinkerers. :-)
@@farmOSorg don't really sure where to start, I can manage deploying farmOs with docker, but not really sure what to do first to achieve adding layer of drone image of my farm in farmOs, maybe a hint on how to add base map layer? I will first deploy geoserver maybe? *UPDATE: - deployed farmOS in docker - add googlemap module to add googlemap layer - trying to configure how to use my own drone photo as basemap because google satelite for my location is so out of date
does the community already have a discord channel? :D totally unrelated but this is a platform for IRL farming and discord is the new comms tool for my gen :D anyway, i am looking forward to using this platform. Thank you for making this video!
We do not have a discord channel, but we do have a community matrix.org room here: app.element.io/#/room/#farmOS:matrix.org We also host monthly community calls: farmOS.org/community/monthly-call/

Hello, is there an option to upload Task data in here to visualize? say ISOXML data?

can I add my own drone photo for base layer in the map?
