I filmed this all last Friday before we got the Midnights Manifest, UK tour “announcement”, billboard lyrics or Spotify album inspiration videos, so it’s interesting to see already what I’ve predicted right and wrong!

And now we have the writers for each song which for me really settles down the rankings and possible genres for each song.
Sweet Nothing is written with Joe, which I am not sure if it debunks the Calvin Harris theory, writing a song about your ex in collaboration with your current partner, sounds so petty and dramatic, that is both perfect and maybe too much. Also Karma and Lavender Haze have like a lot of writers compared to the other tracks which leads me to believe they will sound more pop, or even electropop.
Vigilante Shit is the only solo written, which is why I claim it, all others are with Jack, so they could be anything.

i started loving taylor swift when folklore and evermore came out, and those were obviously not her typical album rollouts/eras. Same sort of thing with Fearless and Red TV. I’m so excited that this is my first *era* era as a swiftie becuase it’s already so iconic aaahhhh

I think it was the breakup. Full honesty, I think she and Joe have actually been broken up a lot longer than some people might think, and I think there was a lot of that influence in Midnights.
If it is a pick up from the lover, imagine lavender haze starting with her picking up the phone from the outro in DAYLIGHT? Her future self (now in the midnights era) listening to that little speech and we kick off into this new era. No one is safe.

-anti hero is another 'this is me trying'.
-snow on the beach is a mature love song from the 60s.
-you're on your own, kid is about scooter maybe like my tears ricochet, when she decided 'ok I'm gonna re-record my albums it's a hard decision but I must do it'. and it's written all by her self.
-midnight rain is 100 percent about joe, and it has the vibes of fearless [the album]
-question... I really don't know what this song is gonna be about, but maybe it relates to the time between 1989 and reputation, I really don't know, it's just a feeling.
-vigilante shit is the 2nd lead single for sure and a collab, I too have a strong feeling that she's hiding something, and probably it relates to this song.
-bejewled is about; remember when she performed all too well at the grammys 2014 she was wearing a silver dress it has some jewles in it, so maybe this song is about that night, and it's written all by herself.
-labyrinth, I have no idea what this song is about, but maybe it's a song about her being lost and not knowing what to do, and I think this song will be so great in terms of lyrics.
-karma is about the kanye and kim for sure, it's the 11th track AND innocent is the 11th track in speak now. And you know what I still believe there is still a whole album called Karma, all the easter eggs from look what you made me do and the man cannot just be about a song, they should be about something bigger.
-sweet nothing, if there is a song in this album about her mom or her family it's gonna be sweet nothing because all the songs about her family [not the grand-parents] were the 12th track; 'the best day' 'sad beautiful tragic' 'soon you'll get better'. But if there are no songs about her family then I wish this song will be about calvin.
-mastermind is about kim kanye or it relates to the reputation era.
-hits different gives me the vibes of speak now [the album] if that's true them I'm dead cause speak now is my fav album.

Well with the writers announced while most of these could still be true, Vigilante Shit is the solo written song so that Collab theory is out, Sweet Nothing is the song written with Joe, so I am not sure if Taylor would write a song about her ex with him. But the family aspect could still happen.
@@patax144 vigilante shit can still be a collab, because nothing new is written all by taylor but it's a collab with Phoebe Bridgers, when I say collab it's not necessarily in terms of lyrics they can sing and perform the song together. I really don't know it's just when she revealed the song vigilante shit in mayhem she wrote feat a special guest, I know it's about her cat but why would she do that, it's just suspicious.
For Question....? the first thing to pop in my head was Speak Now. I think bc that album had a letter vibe. Almost like if anyone had a question as to how she felt about something, she answered that. Example in Dear John when she says she hasn't answered the phone and the song was to let him know why.
Imagine if it was Joe proposing?! That would be crazy but she's too private for that.
I agree with you in almost everything. Disagree on Anti-hero, cause think of her more as The Archer, and as a The Archer #1 stan (like, literally), I like to think of Anti hero being like a sister to the archer. I also disagree abt mastermind, because I don't think she would let K and K have that much space in the album... I think of mastermind as a narcisist song, in a good way of course, we're talking abt goddess taylor swift, so, I believe mastermind will be like a praise to herself, something really honest about how proud she is of herself. Remember TGLAD, the last line "and then it was bought by me", the face she does in the lpss? yeah, I think mastermind have that energy.

I’m definitely a fountain pen type person just because those songs are so raw, emotional, and honest, and I feel like that’s how I am as a person. Also I love how Taylor separates her songs into these categories because it just makes perfect sense. @@ellieh0397 Taylor sorts her songs into three different categories based on the lyrics and what kind of pen she imagines writing those lyrics with: quill pen, fountain pen, and glitter gel pen. She describes quill pen lyrics as songs that sound old fashioned because of antiquated words that she uses. Most of her songs on folklore and evermore are like this. Like they were written in the 1800s. Fountain pen lyrics are ones that are like “modern personal stories written like poetry about moments that you remember all too well where you can see, hear, and feel in screaming detail.” Songs like All Too Well and Cornelia Street are included in this category. Then the last one is glitter gel pen which are songs with lyrics that “make you want to dance, sing, and toss glitter around the room.” Songs like We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together, ME, 22, and You Need To Calm Down are in this category. 3. anti-hero: we already know about that one but I think it will have holy ground/state of grace kind of vibes
4. snow on the beach: high on the beach sequel, same vibe with a touch of glittery taylor
5. yoyok: her separation with the label, scott and everything
6. midnight rain: fearless era, when she used to be up 'til 2AM. a love song about a past love that kept her up at night, writing songs / letter / text messages
7. question...?: about her insecurities in her relationship with joe (cruel summer vibes, maybe?)
8. vigilante shit: the darkest moment of her life, the before reputation era, most specifically about taylor is over night
9. bejeweled: about jake, maybe their first night together (nights where you made me your own) but she's still enchanted in their relationship
10. labyrinth: the feeling of being lost in general, willow vibes
11. karma: definitely reputation era, and I think this was a scarted song from the album. lwymmd vibes all over
12. sweet nothing: 1989 era, her struggle with her mental health and body image
13. mastermind: about herself! I did something bad vibes

I think so many people are saying midnight rain will be your song because taylor loves to talk about rain in general, but most of the songs where it's raining are in her country album and we know how much you love country!

So maybe the song is about how she didn't care to be 'bejewled' but valued his presence much more. That night surely must be a sleepless one. Midnight rain - she can't sleep cause rain is banging against window but it's a metaphor for the thoughts circling in her head stopping her sleeping
Question...? - about her insecurities in her relationship
Vigilante shit - basically a Kanye West Diss track
Bejeweled - like cinderella vibes (how she gets all dressed up and looks like she has everything but when the clock strikes MIDNIGHT it all disappears)
Labyrinth - about her feeling lost in life
Karma - another Kanye West diss track, about everything she wants to do to him
Sweet nothing- how her life is peacful now and how in love she is with Joe
Mastermind - about her masters being stolen and how Scott and Scotter were the masterminds planning her downfall
Hits different- like 'the 1' vibes but if it was on 1989 or reputation
For me, I think the mastermind is about her and Joe. How she was planning and calculating everything, but Joe saw it all and see right through her but still loves and accept her as who she is. And it says in the lyrics to how she was when she was a child, planning and scheming so people will love/like her.

Okay, so. I am totally on board with your last prediction of Lover and Midnights being a cohesive package. She lead on that Lover was initially going to be called Daylight… so the complement of Midnights is just too good. In the Lover era it was a big marketing item must have to get our hands on her personal journals she chose to share with us! She went back and chose specific dates for no apparent rhyme or reason and shared them… why is that? It leads me to think that future work/songs tie in with past entries. Seeing that these songs are inspired by 13 sleepless nights in her life it’s safe to say she’d have documentation about them.
Exhibit A- Maroon
I suspect is from the Red era… based on the sweater from the short film, being that it’s a darker shade of red, it’s track 2 just like Red was, AND on the Lover deluxe album version 3 journal, on 8/29/2010 she’s dropping the ideas for the Speak Now tour, she literally has the word maroon in there! So (to me) confirms without question that the song is inspired from a sleepless night during the Red writing era 😮
There are some entries with more “hints/tie-ins” too… 1am being one of them- a side braid hairstyle- I’m sure, there’s so much more seeing that I only have 1 of the Lover journals.
I don’t think little coincidences like this are very coincidental at all 😅🥹🤩🤩😁

Side A is vulnerable, about insecurities and love
Side B is more inspired in the revenge theme, we'll have more moving songs there
i would love if there's some sort of deliberate separation like this!
Personally, my predictions for some of the songs are:
Question..? Taylor asking someone from her past, or asking herself “what if” kind of like “the 1”from folklore
Karma will be her reflecting on how Karma got to her and reflecting on her own mistakes and whatnot ✨✨💙

Midnight rain is going to be something about tears in quiet moments. Could be a Cinderella reference. Tears as she leaves the magic of the ball at the stroke of midnight and returning to reality. It could be a midnight reflection about her life.

So Happy for you!!!! I have been a fan since she opened at the NYS fair with Tim McGraw! My daughter was a toddler at the time and now she’s 16 and just as excited as I am about the Album release this week! We saw Taylor together on her 12th Birthday it was amazing! 💜💯💕

@@AllySheehan the crazy part is we bought the tickets well after they went on sale, I asked my daughter what she wanted to do on her Birthday and she said Reputation- Google and it’s in Kentucky. Check ticket prices and they had front row seats 12-14! My daughter sat in seat 13 on her 12th Birthday and I had seat 12 which is my “lucky 13” it was surreal! I still don’t know how those seats were available!!!

Midnights Predictions:
1. Lavender Haze - about Taylor's relationship with Joe and what it means to her to fall in love; the little things that make her feel in love
2. Maroon - the night Red lost album of the year was a real milestone in her life, so maybe it could be about how that inspired her to come up with 1989 or how much it affected her
3. Anti-Hero - feeling dehumanized and like a commodity which can be sold and bought; not feeling like she's all she marketed to be and losing her sense of self ad a person
4. Snow on the Beach ft. Lana Del Ray - falling in love with someone simultaneously whilst they're falling in love with you, and feeling a deep connection that feels almost surreal
5. You're on Your Own, Kid - either a) feeling helpless when she finally moves out on her own and has her own place or b) letting go of the sheltered working life she had under scott porshetta and realising how hardh the entertainment industry is without a mentor
6. Midnight Rain - this sing gives me serious Fearless vibes. For some reason i feel like it will be about sitting inside in the midnight rain, and realising that love/fame didn't bring her the fulfillness she thought it would
7. Question...? - I think this is a song inspired by "self-loathing", and I think she basically questions whether she or anyone else means anything at all. i feel like it will be about feeling low in the highest of her highs
8. Vigilante Shit - about feeling pretentious and feeling like her self in the media isn't anything like her in real life
9. Bejeweled - I think this could be about picking herself apart when in a relationship with Jake, and not feeling like how she appears in the media
10. Labyrinth - this could be about being in a maze where there is one goal, something so hard to get but so valuable, like love or ownership of her own music, and how hard it is to reach it but how wonderful it is to have got there
11. Karma - I think she's clowning with us. I think this will be a song about how she wants karma on Kanye West or Scooter Braun or Scott Porshetta, or an introspective song about how her actions come back to her. I don't think its about "the lost album".
12. Sweet Nothing - Knowing her previous writing history with Mr William Bowery, i think it'll be a devastatingly sad song about a break-up, and falling apart whilst still trying to save face
13. Mastermind - it's basically in the title. I think it's about having ownership of her music and how empowering that is for her, and her sense of accomplishment in herself for having come up with such a genius idea
