Wow. What a complete waste of time for you. I normally enjoy watching people work and accomplishing something difficult, but not this time. Not this video. You could have taken this tree to the ground, removed the inevitable suckers over time(while holding a cup of coffee in your hand btw), and the decaying root system would have conveyed rain water into deeper soil.
Good job. That was hard work. I have found a sawzall with a pruning blade helps to cut the roots. Makes lufe a bit easier. Keep up the good work.
I thought that creaking sound was your back until I read the caption.
Dig a little deeper and cut more roots.
I would cut all the surrounding roots and cut it chainsaw below grade
