  • Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacob’s Weekly Update.
    TRANSCRIPT:
“It’s Friday, well, Thursday, actually, but it's time for another weekly update. This week, I attended the Tennessee School for the Deaf community appreciation luncheon and visited with the Division II College Hockey South Champion Ice Vols. Saturday, I will be attending the Vietnam Veterans of America Capt. Bill Robinson Chapter 1078’s National Vietnam War Veterans Day program at World’s Fair Park.
For the first time ever, the Knox County Criminal Court Clerk’s Office will accept partial payments, slashed by up to 50 percent for some older outstanding court obligations and allow those who owe previous fines to wipe the slate clean. To find out if a case qualifies, please call the law firm at 888-703-5315 or visit www.pbfcm.com. The deadline to apply is July 1, 2024.
This month’s employees of the month are Pam Powers from the Health Department and Margaret Greenisen-Orosco from Libraries. The University of Tennessee men’s basketball team is in Detroit tomorrow night to take on the Creighton Blue Jays in the NCAA tournament's Sweet Sixteen round. Out of the 8 SEC teams that punched their tickets to March Madness, only UT and Alabama remain. Good luck to the Vols. Bama well, maybe not so much.
Just a reminder, Knox County offices are closed tomorrow in observance of Good Friday and will be back open for business Monday. Until next Friday, I hope everyone has a happy Easter and great week.”
