I had no idea Jega was a Silent Shadow. That just blew my fucking mind...and embarrasses me since I should've known. Griffin is another, since I bought Shadows of Reach and vaguely recalled Fireteam Taurus from it.

The Skirmishers in Halo infinite are not entirely made of the Tao'voan (did I get the subspecies right, can't remember), they are made up of all 3 of the subspecies of Kig'yar. Which mimics their traditional role in Kig'yar society, that being a job that has an extremely restrictive requirements for all subspecies.

In the “flashback sequence” when halsey first gives cortana to Chief, the lines she says is almost exactly aligned with what was said in the books as well. Not only that but the cosmetic “clonely bear” in matchmaking is a reference to that one halo legends episode about the spartan 2 meeting their flash clone.
3:20 in my head canon, the FuD/the Package armor it’s a MK IV gamma, I consider MK IV alpha to be the Halo wars design, and we know about MK IV B, also featured in FuD. Nothing more, just wanted to share how I'd classify that messy platform!
Just wanted to point out that one reference I missed out was the Spartan station that cortana blew up. It was mentioned in the book bad blood and re introduced some great characters.
I instantly recognized when I saw the AI, but I was thrown off when she blew the station up. I don't know if I remember wrong but I didn't recall her blowing up the station in the novel.
Halo 2 reference Falling down the chute. Halo CE reference Echo 216 gives Chief a pistol at the start of the first mission like Keys did. And Chiefs second weapon is the assault rifle from a dead marine. Brutes can use shotguns like they did in Halo 2. Oracle boss fight like from Halo 3.

Didn't they revert a lot of design choices because halo 4/5 was so badly received? if people had 1 point of criticism, it was always the drastic redesign of everything forerunner.
