Check out “God in Ancient China” by Dr. C K Thong, and also another sermon with the same name by Pastor Kong Hee. Before the advent of Buddhism to China from India, for the first half of 5000 years of Chinese history, the Chinese worshiped the same God as the one recorded in the Bible.

Sinologists and theologians who are well versed in Sinology and Christian theology like Matteo Ricci, Dr. Thomas Leung, Dr. C K Thong, pastor Yuan Zhiming who wrote “Lao Tzu and the Bible”, agree that the ancient Chinese founders and sages like the Yellow Emperor, Confucius and Lao Tzu, worshiped Shang Di, called Tian in the Zhou Dynasty, and Dao (the Way, or the Word Logos) by Confucius and Lao Tzu. I am Chinese American and I too can affirm after listening to these sermons by these scholars that my ancient Chinese ancestors were indeed God-fearing people.

@@CuongNguyen-zn6jy China actually influenced Vietnam and other East Asian countries. They first passed on their writing systems. The video talks about how the artifacts of the cooking are of the same Southern Chinese (Cantonese) making dim sum... which is not Vietnamese.
The writing itself is in Chinese as well. Vietnam at that time did not have their own writing, Vietnam used the Chinese writing for hundreds of years before creating their own. Therfore it could not be Vietnamese at all. China at that time was mainly still up north as stated in the video and in history. Later on in time was when more moved south and eventually spread the writing and culture to others (including Vietnam).

@@CuongNguyen-zn6jy Did Vietnam exist more than 2,000 years ago? The founder of the Nanyue Kingdom, Zhao Tuo, was first of all a Han Chinese from the north.
Zhao Tuo led 500,000 northern soldiers to Guangdong, China, and established the Nanyue Kingdom in Guangxi and northern Vietnam. There were only primitive tribes in these areas, and it was Han soldiers and craftsmen who built and made these things.
If you can read the original books written by your ancestors in Chinese characters, you will understand your history, not the false "history" modified by the Vietnamese government. The Vietnamese are the descendants of the combination of Han soldiers and indigenous people in northern China. Don’t say it again China has invaded you for thousands of years, and you are the descendants of the invaders.
I suggest you to read the original history books written by your ancestors in Chinese. Not the "history books" revised by your government today.

Why this hostility toward modern archaeology? Ancient civilizations may turn out to be far more sophisticated than previously thought, but when they're compared to modern civilizations, there's no competition as to which are more advanced: we are.
This isn't hubris speaking - this is fact.
And let's be clear - the kind of technology and fine craftsmanship that would have been accessible to royalty and the upper-class would hardly have been accessible to the common peasant.

*besides it’s not the archaeologists who are saying that they weren’t advanced. They’re just explaining what the general attitude has been regarding these cultures throughout history. It’s frustrating that has to be spelled out for some people

This astonishing find is particularly fascinating to me from the mercantile perspective, because it illuminates the earlier origins of Asian maritime trade routes, long before the East India Companies, back to Tamerlane, the Mughal Rulers of India, the Qin Dynasty, and the beginnings of the rising Han Dynasty. I truly believe that Carthaginian navigators of Punic origin were some of the earliest explorers to reach the Spice Islands and Southeast Asia.

Good ports are good ports, no matter who runs and populates them, and populations do change. The fact that Carthage founded a town in Portugal does not mean the fifteenth-century navigators who used it had Phoenician ancestry.
Don’t get me wrong. I love the history of trade and intercultural exchange. The famous terracotta warriors are evidence of the influence of the West, like those columns found farther south.
That Western influence seems more likely to be Greek than Carthaginian, given how far Greek/Hellenistic culture reached, thanks to Alexander. His foray into Afghanistan left incredible work many would mistake for art from Renaissance Italy, not Bamiyan. Hellenistic depictions of human figures shaped human sculpture throughout Asia, from the Gandharan period in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India and beyond.
That said, I am sure ancient Carthaginians and their post-Punic descendants got far afield. Greek and Roman ships moored on the Southwest coast of India. Some Greek and Roman traders reached modern Bangladesh.
Later there were plenty of medieval Jewish traders going between Egypt and Spain.
Parts of the “Old World” were far more connected than we sometimes think.

It's important because we are so sweet on our history only going back 5,7,8 thousand years old but the truth is if we want to find these ancient or historic civilizations we have to dig WAY WAY DEEPER INTO THE GROUND. Not just so when we hit something 5k years old, keep going down deeper

Nanyue in Chinese means the edge of South , the name "Vietnam" in Chinese means beyond South .
Nanyue in chinese writing is 南越 Vietnam in Chinese writing is 越南 , Vietnam in character writing is the writing character name Nanyue in reverse .
you can see reason behind the meaning .
Some storyteller said the Manchu Emperor gave the "Vietnam" name to kingdom of Vietnam
In 1955 a large ancient tomb of some minor noble was discover in Hong Kong from dated around 25 AD to 225 AD , a few centuries younger than the tomb from Nanyue King's Tomb in Guangzhou , it proved that even deep south like Hong Kong were already civilized nearly 2000 yr ago .

Ancient Vietnamese scholars always included Nan Yue (Nam Việt) as an official state of today Vietnam. Only since the Nguyen Dynasty the name was swapped to Yue Nan (Việt Nam) by request of Qing's dynasty. Although the ruler was Han-Chinese, the culture, technology and majority of the population was unarguably Yue.

I don’t think the red thread is intended for any kind of self proclamation. If the original has gold thread and is intended as a vehicle for afterlife travel, I see the red thread as a sign of compromise on that journey. Was the gold thread version also rubbed with cinnabar? Then there’s the two or more types of jade and the location on the suit where it’s located. I think this symbolism means something even if it is signs of earlier grave disturbances. Are there any others that have the red threads?

This is logical! The northern kingdom lasted longer and it is as true today as it was then that the victor (or those who survived, lived on) writes the history and tells the narrative they prefer.
The very same thing is happening today. With physical books vanishing, statues and other physical objects being removed, the next generation think that it never happened.
It’s already visible on the topic of what went down during WW II.

I saw the jade suit in Denver Colorado several years ago. The Museum of natural history had a China exhibit. They had technology a thousand years or more before the west. That suit took years to make. It had gold wires holding it together. It was beautiful and creepy at the same time.

Incredible! Thank you Dr Agnes Hsu for this insightful effort to expand our knowledge❤. I always love the discovery of “pauper to prince” stories that got suppressed by those who re-wrote history for the conqueror. I’d be interested in the lead levels of the bones found. Bronze use rarely escapes lead poisoning which can change the human in devastating ways. In many cultures it is described as “the devil’s metal”.

This makes me think of one of Barry Hughart's novels about Master Li and Number Ten Ox. He was in love with China, knew a great deal about it's history, but wasn't allowed to ever visit, due to the top secret information in his head...so, instead, he wrote three absolutely wonderful tales based on ancient Chinese mythology. Bridge of Birds: A Novel of an Ancient China That Never Was, Eight Skilled Gentlemen, and The Story of the Stone. It's a shame he didn't make enough money from his work to make it worth his effort to continue, so we're left with only three. But the subject of a woman buried wearing a jade suit like that is in one of them.

Check out the word “Hundred Yue” in Mandarin or “Bac Viet” in Vietnamese. Yue or Viet 越 means areas south of the Yangtze River of China. Zhejiang province and Jiangsu province area used to be called Wuyue 吴越. Fujian province used to be called Minyue 闽越。Guangdong and Guangxi provinces area used to be called Nanyue 南越。The Qin Dynasty general Zhao Tuo 赵佗, Trieu Da in Vietnamese, founded the Nanyue Kingdom or Southern Yue Kingdom. The Nanyue King Mausoleum Museum 南越王墓博物馆 was the tomb of his descendant. The Trieu Dynasty 赵朝 of Vietnam was founded by this Qin Dynasty general.

    • @Hoo88846

So this Mausoleum is for the grandson of Zhao Tuo 趙佗, Zhao Mo 趙眜,who succeeded his grandfather as the second ruler of the Southern Yue or Nanyue Kingdom 南越國。. Nan 南 (Nam in Vietnamese) = southern; Yue 越 (Viet in Vietnamese) = south of Yangtze River. 廣州 Guangzhou, my birth place, was the capital of this Nanyue Kingdom.
