It was pretty evident that the Hive were meant to be the first raid when playing the story missions. All the talk about Crota, wielding his sword, etc
That's so cool. Explains why after watching a friend play the golgoroth strike I was hooked and bought a ps4 and destiny. It was so cool and I hadn't really seen anything like it.
I do wish they would say fuck it and throw a bunch of Destiny 1’s strikes into Destiny 2, but i know most of it would need to be fully re-built. Archon priest and phogoth would be great fun with strand and stasis
Phogoth is kind of there in the form of his Nightmare Hunt. Leaves me all the more baffled as to why they don't take advantage of Nightmare and Empire Hunts, bump up their enemy density and throw them in the Vanguard Ops Playlist or the Nightfall pool.
@@commentingchannel9776because theyre all both locked behind DLC, and not available until after that Dlc's campaign has been finished
@@smoothtrooper781 uhhh foresaken strikes are also locked behind dlc and nightfalls can't be played if a foresaken strike is up, furthermore battleground's from the season of defiance are fully playable and part of the vanguard ops playlist. Really the reason why nightmare strikes aren't in the vanguard is because they're too short lol and that there's 9 of them

Been playing since day one and when the vanilla d1 campaign released, the game was so bare and weird that I went down a rabbit hole way back then to find out what happened to the game. I unearthed lots of similar stuff (like what you’re starting to talk about) that changed my whole perspective on “what could’ve been” and it always brings back that mystery that D1 made me feel that’s sadly been lost along the way since the d1 alpha. Seeing this stuff reminds me of what could’ve been and this stuff is just great! Keep it going!

Most cut content ends up getting used eventually. Io is just a blue version of an unreleased Mars area from D1. The Forge of the Gods DLC was probably supposed to be part of that area. The story was partially moved to the Shield Brothers in Taken King. Bungie are really good at repurposing things.
Alpha Destiny was such a different game so interesting
They litterally had 90 percent of the contebt ready at lauch ruse of iron was one of the only things they developed post launch

@@giosierra3528not 100% finished no, but things like the dreadnaught etc were modelled and definitely playable. It’s in one of the first destiny trailers after the first gameplay at the wall in the cosmodrome. You can see an ogre slamming down with thralls running around in an area that is clearly the dreadnaught
A year before it was to be released it had to be delayed by a year because Is too very important people left. One person went to microsoft and the other took them to court to prevent them from using their work. That is why.
They had to change so much.

I don't think this was a fumble. The first version of something is rarely the best one.
Seems you completely forgot in the house of wolves expansion we were supposed to have a raid, that was never delivered. Bungie even said they were gonna release it. Fast forward to wraith of the machine and Siva. We still didn't get that last fallen raid we were supposed to or we repaid for it
That original story is what roped everyone in to buying that game but then the video game equivalent of crack sank its claws into everyone lol 😂😂😂
the original story has never seen the light of day...the only remnants are tiny scraps collected and then reddit filled in the other 90% with guess work.
@@chrisn3819 nah there was a trailer super earlier into development that showed some of the original game, but all of it has long since disappeared. (Or is a mandela effect /joke) all I remember of it is uldrin as the early game guide named crow (not that we knew his name from the trailer).
@@SolofChaos yes…that trailer does exist. But there was virtually no story exposition. The original story has crow acting as the “sidekick” throughout the campaign. The stranger (kind of) replaced his role in the actual story that was ultimately released. And the story is basically the mystery of the traveler and if it was actually good or evil. From what I remember reading…it’s honestly a good thing that they completely redid the story because it sounded so flat and cliché.
Man, I miss strike exclusive armor. Does anyone remember the Mongrel Ogre's Grasps? Loved that armor piece for my Hunter.
We also have to remember this game came out on the ps3 and xbox 360, th9se systems probably couldnt handle that big of a raid tbh, still disappointing but ive been playing since d1 beta i already know what that feels like lmao (help me i cant stop playing this gamr it has a grip on my life that i cant shake)
How much you wanna bet that the first Hive raid was going to be one of the best pieces of raid content that you have ever experienced, that would have kept you coming back for more?
They just told you that they took all of your story and depth, and fragmented it into a game modes and DLC!
This should be more of a slap in the face than anything.
The could do a destiny 3 dark world where this story takes place and we get to play this raid.

A destiny remake after the final shape would be a win win, do this original concept and people can experience it and Bungie can continue doing reskins

I'd buy a remake of the first game with alot of the quality of life improvements the game has now
I wish we could get a truly massive raid, as much of an LFG nightmare as it could probably be. King's Fall and Last Wish are great, but they are still not that much longer than the others. It almost looks to me like, if Bungie had gotten it right on their first attempt, Destiny as a whole would be much closer to a full-blown MMO in terms of gameplay mechanics, and I wish we could have seen that version of the game, as much as I like the current one.
Honestly if they just brought back leviathan and the raid lairs and turn it into a gauntlet, pun intended, where you have to go through it from first ascending the steps to defeating spire of stars boss I’d be more than happy. Its a shame many players who didn’t start till beyond light/witch queen never got to experience the calus raids
