Fish are air freighted all over the world for the aquarium trade, and there is a high mortality, its one of the reasons I got out of the hobby but the fish I miss the most was a horned shark about that size by the time I gave it to the local LFS to rehome when I stopped keeping fish. I had that shark for around 8 years or so, and it's the only fish I still think about.

They clearly didn’t prepare properly and don’t care about looking after him properly, not even it’s natural diet just hate this.
My suggestion would be to try feeding him at dusk and leave the food in there overnight and come back in the morning and see if he’s eaten anything

They do get sick but mainly in small enclosures and also it is best if you just leave them in the wild
