  • The natives had a paradise in this place. Why is it difficult to find tools or points with pressure flaking in this place?

.Every time I am in this magical place I imagine the natives living like the Neanderthals did in Africa. The type of percussive flaking found on all of their tools is fascinating.

My great friend, there is the beauty of nature and there is the footprint of the native who faced that environment thousands of years ago to survive in his own way. Great moments in his life without a doubt until the time of his extinction came.

Yes friend, it definitely seems to be a quarry and also a camp. The size of that artifact is amazing! It reminds me of an article I read many years ago where a pile of chips were found scattered on a rock surface here in Canada. All the chips were gathered and puzzled back together. once reassembled plaster was poured inside of it. What came out was a massive arrow point. The size was such that it was not possible to be used for anything. The theory is in ancient time someone was teaching perhaps the young how flint napping is done.
    Take care Coyote✌️

WOW.. That water looks so beautiful my great friend. I would love to snorkel that coastline looking for artifacts.. I can't believe how many pre-forms are in that area. That piece that Coyota found is so very cool. I have never seen one that was napped that way. It looks like the base snapped before the point could be finished. That last preform that you found was just amazing.. That would have been one very nice spear point. Thanks my great friend and brother and sister Coyota. Blessing to you both.

.I have always had the impression that there are several things hidden in the water. One day I'll go snorkeling and bring my GO PRO, maybe I'll find something good. That piece that Coyota found is phenomenal, they only worked a part of the rock as if making a knife tip. And I don't know what purpose they would make the big tip. What I do know is that this place invites you to have a good rest after an exploration. Blessings to my great friend.

Another fine video friend. A basalt quarry.. With the size of the flakes and pre-forms, it reminds me of some of the large basalt scrapers/cutters /crushersI found in New Mexico. Large game butchering. If there is an archaeological record (bones or rock painting etc ) in this area it might provide more insight specific to its location and relevance to pre-Paleo sites. Always good to salute the beautiful wife 🙂.

Up here we call those big bifaces a platter biface. They were the Indians mobile toolkit. When they needed a sharp blade to skin with or cut their hair , or to make an arrow point. That place you guys hunted was a quarry site and a shell madden is there also.

Yes, the master Thomas Smith also told me that those large pieces were precisely for removing flakes or large scales to make the points. Thank you very much my friend, I'm starting to form a whole concept of that place. Blessings to you.

Salut, Good Coyote and Fair Coyota,
Seems that, as you lovers roam the dunes of some magical coastal desert, you two walked in upon a veritable time capsule, that representative of a distant but very real past, composed of several layers.... a series of occupations utilizing various evolving industries.
So, "their" story is made to unravel as one progresses down so many trails left strewn with stony clues; lost and forsaken impliments, forms familiar and often recognizable, those which ancient hands coaxed forth tools and art from flinty nodules and irregular cobbles, and those are petrified wood that's known to litter the exposed surfaces of waste patches, rivaling the quality even that pulled from local stream bottoms. They gave it an edge and weaponized it for use, something needful, assigned it a role and an agenda, there within the weird confines of a strange and uncertain dreamland of shifting silicate sands, a reminder in this place where trees once dominated, and whose time remaining is now witnessed as severely shortened, and for the sensitive sort; now markedly fleeting. Cheers and Blessings!

Yes, my friend, that place represents the beauty of nature and the interaction of human beings who, thanks to their intelligence, evolved their way of transforming their lives. There are the vestiges of what he did to survive until the law of the survival of the fittest defeated him. Blessings always to you my friend..
