Sir I was in 13 Jammu and Kashmir Rifles in Dras at that time. Brigedier Devinder and Brigedier Surinder sir are the real heroes of Kargil war but they were not given that much of credits as vthe really deserved. The two Generals one Div and one Corps Commanders were the persons behind it. They hid their mistake of not trusting the subordinates inputs given to them. They misunderstood or misjudged the situation which resulted in heavy loss to the Army.
My Salute to Brigadier Surinder Singh! Wishing him good health and sound mind to bring the culprits to Justice! Wishing him and his family good health! He is patriot of highest order!
After having served in Mushkoh valley and Northern Siachen Glacier as young officer during the period(1997-98) immediately preceding Kargil war, I find myself totally disillusioned and cheated today after learning about the kind of professional dishonesty of the entire chain of command from Division upwards prevailing at the time. In my views there can’t be a greater sin that men in uniform can commit. My best wishes to Brig Surinder Singh in his fight for justice. The truth will ultimately prevail!!
Yes. Being second generation and living all my life in an all army set up I have seen and known generals very closely. Budhwar and Krishanpal are not an aberration but more or less the norm. Yes - Brig Surinder Singh is all talking sense!! Few Generals - primarily Gen Pal and Budhwar are the main culprits!! Indian Army - must have taken action against these but unfortunately - nothing happened. Even Gen Mallik’s book does not talk about any such lapses. A pure cover up - I didn’t complete the reading and left it midway! Similar things happened with Brig Devinder Singh too. My respects to Brig Devinder - and unfortunately his appeal is still pending with Army Tribunal. Seems no one is interested in fixing the responsibility. It is definitely not good for the Army as an institution! GOI must take cognisance of these facts and something must be done to stem this wrought rather going after Rahul Gandhi and gaining TRP. The problem with our Army is that we don't like to introspect even when it is a win. When such a massive incursion happened in 1999 there is no way intelligence failure is only to be blamed. There have been enough lapses from the Army which need to be introspected so that we don't commit such mistakes in future. As a citizen we support the Army in all cases. It does not mean that there are no flaws in our Army. We should embrace such deficiencies and correct them. No point in living the life of an ostrich.
My heart bleeds to hear all the horrors described by the many front line officers during the kargil wat. It is time the generals of that time accept their incompetence and failure to take the right decisions and credit be accorded to the front line officers who have suffered for the last 25 years because of these generals.

It highlights the complexity of the situation leading up to and during the Kargil War, as well as the ongoing debates about intelligence, preparedness, and decision-making during this period.
It is very sad 3 Sikh Brigadiers , Surinder, Devinder and Mohinder ( MPS Bajwa ) were unfairly denied their due. Actual culprit was GOC Budhwar who was sheltered by Gen Malik being from the same biradari. Shameful.
Brig Surinder had withdrawn his troops as per SOPs although there was no snowfall. He should have the moral courage to tell who had informed him about the Pakistani Troops having occupied the vacated FDLs. This fact was known to all the commanders at Junior as well as Senior Level.
I have met him in Chandigarh and he was my customer in the bank where I was senior manager. He had told about his hearing problem due to bomb blast. I.methis daughter and wife too who too suffered .

Very sad. It's the result of sycophancy in army for self development & career growth. The truth & lapses of senior command for the blind sacrifices of 527 soldiers should ɓe exposed.
04:20 You were not been taking about the war. The people who were taking, knew nothing about Kargil. 5:30 The posting has been changed to 121 Brigade. That was to be taken over by Bgd Bardwal , 5:40 Bgd Bardwal refused to take over ,later on he became a General.
Thanks for speaking the truth. Indian population is fooled by Bollywood and vijay diwas till today it should be prajay diwas. May be due to casual and nonchalant approach, the maters came to a flashpoint.like BRIGADIER sawinder singh ,HE APPEARS to have been given a raw deal.and about THE JUDICIAL system ,less said the better.protracted litigation is a consuming thing. Luckily, some of the principal actors of 1999 are still alive. It is desirable and deserving THEY set the record straight.regarding activity on the other side ,his DOCUMENTED VIEWS should have been given priority. Instruction into about 150 long area, and neither the indian government nor its main arm did not know anything about it. Five hundred and about fifty indian bravehearts fell in the line of duty to cover up mistakes OF FEW uniformed and civilian persons .honestly speaking ,matter deserved to be looked into afresh.thanks very much

They all Brig surander singh , major Bhatnagar , subheg singh , Brig Davinder Singh and wo more of kargil war , gen jackob of 1971 (was honoured 30 years after the war by dr.manmohan singh) suffered because of the gang called generals
Brig Surinder Singh was made a scapegoat… those generals and brigadiers whose heads would roll for their negligence piled the blame on this upright man!
Just compare the competence of Pak army chief pervez musharraf who planned and executed the kargil operation/invasion and the Indian incumbent army chief of that time, who was supposed to look after Indian interest in that region. No surprises, that India was colonized for so long and still trying to come out of the shadows of foreign powers! We must change the recruitment and promotion policy of Indian Army and Indian security establishment and also the Indian government establishment!
This is my country. The chief and the generals were enjoying their time. Nothing else. Chief ne to book likh di per jb chief ko bola kisi ne jo ground pe hai to usko maut a rhi thi kya. Budhwar no respect for him.
This is a trend in the forces "yes man" is made to sit in the laps of the powers and real soldier (officer) is sacrificed to make the twinkle boy pious.
My father served with him in Kargil, back when all hell broke loose.Brig Surinder Singh and Col MS Kukshal,CO 4 Jat would have been recognised as war heroes if not for BJP and Army leadership in the form of Gen Malik,Budhwar and Kishan Pal saving own backside. Not a single extrapolation from the gentleman,in a different country VP Malik and budhwar would have been sacked for their incompetency and Brig Surinder would have picked up the next rank/s.
Incompetence at senior levels is disastrous....have we learned from this? We lost such fine officers/soldiers....who is responsible for 527 deaths? Army is one such institution where accountability should be equal at all levels. Just because you are a General does NOT guarantee immunity.
True. This Major General is responsible for concealing information of enemy intrusion since January 1999, manipulating reports and returns and Gen VP Malik for shoving under carpet his guilt that cost more than 520 lives and thousands disabled.
Most of Our generals are undeserving. They do not have any vision and secondly they do not listen to anything which is practical and sensible. Even today ,nothing has changed.

Great Soldier again getting let down by his very own institution and senior officers!! The more I see such stories of patriotic officers being made scapegoat for mistakes of their seniors, my respect for Army as an institution also goes down as it is not as sacred as we think it to be.
Sandhu sahib, it's absolutely correct that we have captured Punjab tekri in 1971, Punjab tekri name was also given because our Punjab regiment captured it under the command of Major SS Sahota who was awarded Sena medal, Subedar Mohinder Singh of that company got Mahavir chakra and sepoy Sampuran Singh got Vir chakra even I know the names of JCO and other ranks who made their supreme sacrifices in capturing these enemy posts. I don't know if brigadier sahib know about what I mentioned above or not.I am very much tired to know all this. Our battalion was exactly there where brigadier sahib served as a Major. Our battalion captured all posts of enemy which were beyond us right from singhu river to bajrang post in south. First time I am listening from brigadier sahib about our posts have already been recaptured by enemy even brigadier sahib is also not clear when these posts were recaptured because it's very clear that upto 1981these were in our possession as brigadier sahib has mentioned in conversation with you. He also came to know about it when he took over the command of 121Brigade in Aug 1998.
If, ever, India has to raise its over operational capacity, across all spectrum of military forces including technology innovation, production and stockpiling of weapons and resources for future warfare, the first step it must take to show its military generals as Israeli military generals show up, wearing a complete combat outfit all the time and appear all time ready to go to action. Unlike Indian generals, who remain embedded under their obnoxiously looking medal ridden, shiny shoes, crisply ironed uniforms. First India’s needs to get rid of this British era mentality and has to teach its general that they are employed for war not as corporates to be sit in aircon rooms wearing turgid clothes, unsuitable for military doctrine.

This chronology incorporates both the official narrative and the alternative accounts provided by various military officials. It highlights the complexity of the situation leading up to and during the Kargil War, as well as the ongoing debates about intelligence, preparedness, and decision-making during this period.
Brig Surinder g should be honoured with undue respect…
25 yrs for clarity and justice .... horrible
It is very sad 3 Sikh Brigadiers , Surinder, Devinder and Mohinder ( MPS Bajwa ) were unfairly denied their due. Actual culprit was GOC Budhwar who was sheltered by Gen Malik being from the same biradari. Shameful.
If so one can always say a Sikh is defending two Sikhs. Not fair. A narrow mind set .Incidently Budhwar is a Jat and Gen Malik is a Punjabi .
Sir your analysis is too good!!! Thank u for bringing it too us public!!
12:20 I have been a very luck soldier..I saw combat, physical combat, actual fighting in all these areas, except opposite Chinese
13:00 LT General Satvir Yadav then Bgd got AVSM for for firing once. He wrongly positioned guns in front of the enemy firings range and he got promotion ..
A very serious question.
Hats off to this channel for the first time bringing in the voice of brigadier surinder singh.
I hope one day we will also hear from Maj Gen budhwar on your channel
That was to be taken over by Bgd Bardwal ,
5:40 Bgd Bardwal refused to take over ,later on he became a General.
Brigadier sir ko sach bolne ki saja di system ne!
Truth needs to be told. Justice must be done to those who suffered and the guilty should be punished.
No chance.
@@ASingh1699k we can just hope.
59:20 Investigation by a HC Judge how and why Kargil happened. How the generals have gone scot free ? Troupes never let down.
It is very sad to learn these facts after 25 years. Will Brigadier Surinder Singh get justice? Only time will tell. Jai Hind
It's never late, govt should take action against higher generals who didn't act in time and young soldiers were martyred
Thanks for such important information.
Sir you are inspiration of lots of people. Couple of generals are responsible and they should be punished.
I think there is another Officer from PARA has also filed a case in the Court against the negligence of the Generals.
Thanks for speaking the truth. Indian population is fooled by Bollywood and vijay diwas till today it should be prajay diwas.
Army till today dont go on those hill tops and show that this is where we were fighting this is what we captured in fight. All they do is point to the hills from 5 to 10 km away.
Excellent interview Kanwar sir
I salute you, Brigadier Surinder Singh for your valour.
Sir is right. Even today every one is wearing khope on eyes. Just. Pushing their time no spirit or planning for upcoming threats
Thanks for the interview
Please use a good quality camera
Video is choppy at times
Good Luck Brigadier Sir
There’s a cut at timestamp 27:12 when Brig. was going say something important
Best of luck sir. In india everywhere there is a general who is doing wrong in vital and important decision making.
Same thing was done by Chinese in laddakh, army was sleeping.
Choose your words sensibly and correctly! It was not the Army who was "sleeping" but some Generals yet again. The Army never sleeps. The proof of that is you sitting very comfortably in the comfort of home and writing this comment!
Their Locality should come under inquiry including THEIR FAMILY BANK ACCOUNTS
@@कृतार्थयादव collective failure of Army, n our intelligence agencies, so may army people of Pakistani came n our intelligence was jil, army can not vacate post n expect that eney will not come to occupy thos post, generals were also part of Army,
They needed a scapegoat, brigadier Surinder, was ideally positioned ,to be made just that.Like ,he was posted there hastily for this purpose only,it would seem. What’s,most disturbing ,is the lack of moral fibre, from the div cdr onwards & the presiding officers of a myriad no.of CofI,SofE,CM if any.
Gen Budhwar, and even Gen VP Malik are to be blamed for ignoring threat perception in Kargil… it is time to probe into their failure.
These kind of true files should be brought to public domain extensively. So that civilians should know what is going on at our borders and the mistakes are committed by few top highly respected army Generals. They are having good time at borders at the cost of young jawans and officers. It is a pity . My salute to Brigadier Surinder Singh. His honour should be restored. I think Government is misled by these corrupt and coward Generals.
X brigadier has a specific point regarding preparations on the other side. Five hundred and about fifty indian bravehearts fell in the line of duty to cover up mistakes OF FEW uniformed and civilian persons .honestly speaking ,matter deserved to be looked into afresh.thanks very much
What is tribunal doing from last 13 years. This is how our army men are treated. Just bcz of budhwar and the chief this war took place.
I special salute to u for explaining truth of Kargil war u War also threatened like govt said to u for Dismissal urs service I know everything about u sir I was also discussed from service from Kashmir near pension on 25feb 1984and my c o became first c.o.who was abused by me in the presence of officers no any officers support to him and again I was offered my service in Kargil Jang and to face the terrorism in Kashmir as ur partial means completely deducted officer but in over country no justice for deducted person
It's simple frustrating 😮😮
They all Brig surander singh , major Bhatnagar , subheg singh , Brig Davinder Singh and wo more of kargil war , gen jackob of 1971 (was honoured 30 years after the war by dr.manmohan singh) suffered because of the gang called generals
Truth shall prevail! May be, may be not!
Brig Surinder Singh was made a scapegoat… those generals and brigadiers whose heads would roll for their negligence piled the blame on this upright man!
Great interview
Should Gen Malik be made accountable for this loss? I think these soldiers can only get justice when we start fixing accountability top down.
Incompetence at senior levels is disastrous....have we learned from this? We lost such fine officers/soldiers....who is responsible for 527 deaths? Army is one such institution where accountability should be equal at all levels. Just because you are a General does NOT guarantee immunity.
Somebody question Gen Budhwar, Is he alive or gone if alive then he should be brought before the courts either army or civil
True. This Major General is responsible for concealing information of enemy intrusion since January 1999, manipulating reports and returns and Gen VP Malik for shoving under carpet his guilt that cost more than 520 lives and thousands disabled.
Some good people in any army doesn’t make that army a great Army and some good people in any country, doesn’t make that country a great country!
Maj Gen Budhwar was the Main culprit who misguided Top authorites and has Not communicated actual situation to Army HQ.
Still he was praised.
Generals were rascals...
why not bring Bhatnagar and Surinder Singh together ? make more noise please
Most of Our generals are undeserving. They do not have any vision and secondly they do not listen to anything which is practical and sensible. Even today ,nothing has changed.
Your Podcasts better and amazing Sir , but if conducts in Hindi than It's a Best version for common citizen like us to understand and attach more. Please conduct yur every podcasts in our National Language if possible.
Great Soldier again getting let down by his very own institution and senior officers!! The more I see such stories of patriotic officers being made scapegoat for mistakes of their seniors, my respect for Army as an institution also goes down as it is not as sacred as we think it to be.
Sandhu sahib, it's absolutely correct that we have captured Punjab tekri in 1971, Punjab tekri name was also given because our Punjab regiment captured it under the command of Major SS
Sahota who was awarded Sena medal, Subedar Mohinder Singh of that company got Mahavir chakra and sepoy Sampuran Singh got Vir chakra even I know the names of JCO and other ranks who made their supreme sacrifices in capturing these enemy posts.
