- And thus begins the roof framing. This video covers setting the ridge beams. 5 1/2" x 15" glulams. We are rigging certified and forklift certified. That covers the local legal side. What that doesn't cover is the fact we still need to be slow and smart so we don't get hurt or damage anything.

Please remember that I'm not showing the best way to do anything, but just the method that works well for us. Thanks for watching!

Oh and another takeaway, if you use a drone for commercial work, you need to be part107 certified. Commercial work includes social media like UA-cam if you plan to make an income off of that. I watched a video about this last May and then purchased the Part 107 Course sso.teachable.... I studied and learned for 1 month and then took my test. I scored a 95%, which is a testament to how good Greg and the crew over there teach. That link will save you $100 off the course and support this channel.

Great job Tim! You and your crew do great work! As some of the other guys mentioned in the comments, I appreciate your easygoing nature! I'm sure the guys appreciate that, I know I would!
I love your positivity and easy going nature. Those guys are lucky to have you as their employer!
It makes it harder to learn when your working for psychotic assholes like I did. Your awesome.
We use mobile phones and just normal hands free ear buds. The thing is the operator does not shift anything unless a clear signal is heard. Also the it's a continuous signal. So first is the operation, jib up slow, then repeat jib up.. jib up... jib up. Etc. That way if communication is lost the machine will stop.
just to add to last comment about signaling the functions are boom up or down, retract or extend boom or scope in/out, and the forks or jib attachment would be tilt up or down.
Hey Tim, why not trusses? Is it for cost? Vaulted ceilings? Or???
"Put on the hard hat because we're all about safety" ....also "Push the scaffolding with me on it" lol Love your videos. Binge watching to build my own house.
Great real-time video! As others have said, your teaching style is fantastic. I've been in leadership positions and the balance of positivity, encouragement, keeping things going and being humble/patient is so much harder than you make it look! Love the content!
I'm a work in progress. Thanks so much!!
This is so helpful guys. Really appreciate your time and effort putting this out there.
Great job as usual Timmy
Turtle wins the race lol
You needed what we call a "Dope on the Rope".
if yougive spoken signals , the receiver is not allowed to say anything back , if something happens in the meantime seconds are lost that can be important in an emergency
Nope, this is real time. If we weren't communicating, but signaling the operator can't say anything back can he/she?
long glu-lams are made with a camber, aka bow, crown. You guys do good work, I enjoy watching. Thanks
Why not use tag line's to help set beam? It's safer than being on top of scaffold or ladder in an emergency ie chain breaks or forklift malfunction. Looks beautiful
amazing your work! Does the job board you use have a name, where can it be found?
I’m not a fan of Beyoncé either
That time of year when the 👃’s 🏃!
We sincerely want to work with you and hope you will reply to our emails(Construction Farm Camera)
Nice one Tim. Thanks for showing the whole thing. How are you fastening the soffit to the top plate? Are you not worried it will sag and do you plan to tie it into the rafters to take out some of the moment force?
Nope it doesn't sag. But we add lookouts here and there
Not sure that I would of used the word graceful
Is this douglas wood?
Fuking awesome. Please stop with the 80’s retro music in the vids.
If you revise your comment to lose the swearing,I'll consider it 👍

Hallo from austria Europa
i that what you call Australia?
@@nickm9729 uh no austria is a country in europe...
Good job , but it took to long
Ahem. I learn a LOT from your videos. I am very grateful for your content. I am an owner/builder in the planning stages of my project. And yes, it does seem incredibly boring and long. You know - 10 minutes of information-rich interesting content packed into a 35 minute recording. You didn't even get the beam hooked up until 18 minutes in. Have you ever heard of editing? Perhaps the fiddling around getting ready part could be sped through with a brief voice over explaining blue tooth communication? You didn't even begin lifting the beam until 20 minutes in. I always set the speed to 2X for your videos, and then use the slider to get to the real action where I can pick up tips. The white guys screwing up dancing part is charming but not informative. Dude, figure out how to fast-forward through the warm-up!
I actually enjoy all of the ‘fiddling around’ stuff a great deal so..why don’t you just take it easy. Just be happy with these awesome videos. This is a positive and uplifting channel. You sound very entitled. Go watch a 5 minute video if that’s what you think you want.
@@Quietvibes07 Entitled? Really? Hmm. 🤔Need to do something about my image. I am crowding 70, legally blind, and looking for ways to build a retirement cottage that I can afford to construct on my Social Security check. I figure the only way to accomplish that is to hire inexperienced workers and train 'em up. Hence, this content is highly relevant. But, yeah. I got impatient when I wasn't learning anything. Still worth watching this channel, though.
@@lindacgrace2973 entitlement comes in all shapes and sizes.. And ages. Grow up.
@@Quietvibes07 Wow. I must have hit a nerve somewhere. Please note that I'm a fan of the channel and my remark was intended to be constructive criticism (and the only criticism I have ever issued, BTW). At least we know he has developed a rabid fan!
@@lindacgrace2973 you can give constructive criticism without being condescending. Anyone who starts a comment with ‘Ahem’ is on a high horse. Telling a grown man that’s creating content how you would rather him do it is just funny to me! 😂. I’m saying all this respectfully. Have a nice day!
