Excellent set of videos. As I said in comments on episode 1, as a resident of our city, you have unearthed some really interesting facts about the Roman era. Especially like your discovery of the old tower on St. Martins way and the original route the walls took towards Watergate St. You have totally changed my previous history of the route the walls originally took. Unfortunately the various Councils of Chester acted worse than the Vandals who sacked Rome. Especially those councils of the 1960’s who destroyed and built over what was found, when St. Martins Way was built. Subsequent councils, including the current one have fared no better. Many thanks for your precious contributions, through your videos, which have been most informative and enjoyable to watch.
Hi Bob, very interesting, you picked up lots of details. The shrine to Minerva was quite something, amazingly you can get up close and touch it. Let's hope it is respected and doesn't get hidden away out of view. The overlay over the carpark is Avila, I recognised it at once, it's often in the news here when it snows!!. It's somewhere I would like to visit one day. The overlay worked really well on the carpark. Great video, well done (I'll have to catch up on parts one and two now) Good luck from Spain PS: I was just thinking about Monty Python when your caption about Roman name pronunciation popped up😅😅😅
Hi David, thanks for watching. The shrine has been quite abused over the years, including being shot at during World War 2, and the bottom right corner is missing. But yes let's hope it survives for 2 more millenia.
Thanks for another great video. Just wondering have you looked at David Masons book “Chester AD 400 - 1066” at around the 16 min mark on your video you talk about the suspected Roman wall. Well David mason shares that view, if you like I can send you the map he used to show the further defence of the walls (it includes this section and the quay wall at the race course) both possibly built around the year 300.

Hi Ben, thank you. I have David Masons 'Fortress at the edge of the world' but not the one you mention. Yes please, I would love to see the map.
Yet another fascinating film... thank you for your interest and your efforts. Look forward to more! 😊
