@OnsideDragon if you watch Rudy's other videos there is an allocation period where stores get a limited supply at the beginning of any new set. Once the allocation period is over stores can order as much stock as they need.

Wow, I was so close to caving and buying a box. The value is not looking like it's there at all even if you get a couple of Godly packs.

buying one for what? The Seller pays way less for the box, He sells you the box, you open the expensive card, then you go back in the store because you don't need that card you need other, they give you 50% of what the card is worth, you lose money 2 times. Also you can risk to exchange your brand new fresh cards with other people, that not always will have brand new cards like you, and you risk to exchange for proxies because nowadays some proxies are almost perfect only very experienced people would know. So then instead of all that you decide to keep the cards for the future, 5 years after you quit playing you go and see that Wizards of the Cost reprinted all of your cards and you lost a lot of money. They basically PRINT MONEY because magic players keep buying these ugly shitty cards nowadays. Rudy knows it all he's very smart person. I was a magic player since 96 and I promised I would never ever waste my money again.

@@Deathangel1919 extended art planes walkers show up in regular packs, I don't know whether foils do, or whether foil extended arts other cards show up either. However I agree some will go up, I think many will go down though. I think end of day it'll be set to set what the price for collectors boosters, but I think we'll see this set settle at 400 in the long run

Also keep in mind that ONLY extended art cards, and the non foil alt art common adventure cards are unique to these packs. The real question is going to be how many of the Showcase cards, the actually name for alt art adventures, show up in your average booster. That ratio is the key componet of all this.

@@joncardenas3203 Actually i think the one thing that would only come in these packs are the ancillary cards, being the ones that are unique to planewalker decks and box toppers. You can get extended art in regular packs, tis the way i recieved my beautiful extended Oko.
I may have also misunderstood your statement, if so i am sorry. I'm losing it thinking about all these card options
@@ZorxoFenrir Two things. One the Oko is not an extended art card. It is a Showcase card. Yes Showcase Planewalker cards do go all the way to the edges. BUT they are not extended art cards. For Example Extended art Emry is not in normal booster packs. Showcase planewalkers and The alt art adventures can be. Really The Planewalker special frame is grouped with the showcase cards, even though they look more like the entended art cards. Second they made it very clear in the announcement that its not NEW cards in the anciallary slot, its and card that has a throne of eldraine set symbol that is not in the main set. Meaning any card they reprint in the brawl decks or planewalker decks can be found there. This also includes reprints like command tower BTW, so really this is a good thing, but its unfortunate that one of the things they reprinted with an eldraine set symbol is the common life gain lands.
I am definitely noticing repeats in terms of you getting the same cards, in the same order, multiple times in different packs. Also a high rate of duplication overall.

How come the cutting machines are worse than 15 years ago? Most cards have white showing along the borders....how does that affect the grading especially if you sent them in to be graded?

Card quality from this set increased tremendously, at leat in Europe.
They don't feel like it, they really improved card quality with this set.

Uhh...the power curve is gonna be RIDIC in this set... dont count your chickens just yet... Just by the few i'm seeing. That one planeswalker's ult was turn all creatures you control into 10/10 trample.....This is beginning to look like a very much a brute force style set.

At 24:57 I pulled the same card from the foil slot of a regular pack. Card number 280 Animating Faerie, same artwork, same frame.
The showcase farrie frame(I think that's the name of it) is gorgeous, that's how magic cards should look from here on out

Rudy oko is in the base set and is able to be pulled in the dtaft booster packs at 4.19 each.

When you opened the common non foil land it reminded me of when openboosters opened a "rare island" from a Beta pack... of course not quite as disappointing but you know what I mean.

Damn that foil Hypnotic Sprite at 7:11. Yeah, after seeing this stuff opened, I totally get the price. I don't think it's worth it, and yet I want to buy it because it's so damn beautiful. They did a great job. Edit: and again at 9:00 yea I totally agree, most beautiful Magic cards I've ever seen. It's just too bad a lot of the cards aren't good enough.
This is definitely not worth $350. You pulled maybe 3 cards worth over $40 once the market settles. An extended art non foil oko, foil great henge, foil alternate art murderous rider, and that’s all I can think of after watching the video. This was after two boxes as well! Don’t waste your money on this crap guys! Buy reserved list or sit on a box of an old set that has value like Avacyn or Scars, if you wanted to purchase this. Or hell, just buy a case of Throne of Eldraine and you’ll have better chances of pulling extended art plainswalkers!

Usiris operative word is “once the market settles” if he gets all his cards within the week, then he might be able to make that money on the hype prices. But as it stands long term, it doesn’t seem like the unique items will be able to support such a heavy investment
They are so full of junk. They will have hardly any long term value especially if more places are doing what Rudy plans on doing.

He's not sending anyone a sealed box, I doubt in 2 years there's going to be many sealed boxes on the market and that means stupid high prices, it's the only reason stupid ass nemesis boxes are so expensive
You have the same playmate as me. This is great because I can't afford these packs myself and now I can have the experience of opening these packs vicariously. Very emersive video. I'll just mute the audio and put my hand behind my back so I can act out my reactions.

They all ready did all foil packs once. I remember Walmart putting them on clearance so they would sell. Not realy sure how these will go but my guess will be they kill the value of regular cards.

From Wizards site.. it seems that 1 card slot is "not available in any traditional booster". All the rest I am guessing (special frames and border-less) can be found in standard boxes..
Second box Market Price on just the rares (Foil, Extended, Alternate, Foil Alternate, Foil Extended) is $262
That one probably came in under $325 after the alternate art foils and such.
The swings on these boxes are going to be huge. There are 6 $100+ foil mythic alternate arts, and it seems you get 1-2 per box on average.
Not going to buy these boosters, but will definitely buy one of each fairytale foils, so gorgeous.

The extended art Stormfist Crusader at the end is currently listed with 250$ in its foil version.

The packaging in the end does not matter as they will most often be discarded... On the other Hand Sometimes it is nice to see.

Someone today in mt LGS pulled a non foil Kenrith the Returned from the collector boosters. Which is super cool considering that without this he's over available as a buy a box card, would be interested to see if because technically the non foil is rarer if it'll go for higher prices down the line.
The fairytale art is very impressive. I would buy in, but that price point is pretty insane. Definitely a premium price and product.
I opened a regular booster box and my break down was 4 non foil showcase uncommons, 1 foil showcase uncommon, 1 non foil mythic showcase (brazen borrower)
That foil bone crusher with different art, is sure worth something.
Just opened a box of Throne, pulled a foil mythic and regular mythic of The Great Henge in the same pack. 6 mythic box in the end.
Got a free collectors pack with my preorder as well, got the mythic artifact sword Ember Cleave full art. Overall pretty good so far, but no plainswalkers or legendary creature mythics unfortunately.
Almost was gonna buy a pack or two tomorrow at pre-release but seeing that you can get a Thornwood Falls saved me from wasting that money.
For those like Rudy who seem confused about the layout it goes: First 9 cards are guaranteed foil uncommons or common only (these have a chance to be story book but not guaranteed)
The next 3 cards are guaranteed story book (also guaranteed Non-Foil) cards that could be ANY rarity (usually common U/C tho)
The next card (13th) is just any single card from the Brawl Decks it could be the mythic, or a thornwood falls lol
The 14th card is a guaranteed extended art (also guaranteed NOT FOIL *BOO!*)
The last one is a guaranteed Foil, guaranteed Rare/Mythic that has a chance to be extended art (or story book i believe***)

I got one in my pack with my box, thinking of burning it for wasting my chance at gold!
The first 9 cards can all be obtained in the regular booster box they are just foil , so all the ones you put aside aren't really hits or anything. The three special frames are three non foil directly after the foils , then comes the ancillary card , then the non foil extended art , then the foil rare , lastly foil token . Everything but the extended art and the ancillary card can be obtained in the regular set
In box one you got ohko , great henge and the signet ( sadly the signet is probably going to drop like a rock since it is only useful in commander/ brawl)
These cards are real high quality, opened the green Castle extended art and a foil troll extended art.
Alternate art frames I'm gonna call creeping vine frames in honor of Creepy Rudy. Hope you open lots of creeps, Rudy!

I pulled both today in a regular box.

I feel like these cards are beautiful but not worth the price they are going for the packs.

They are for collectors who will pay top dollar for a rare and unique piece of art. The fact that it won't see play is irrelevant. Collectors are not collecting so they can play with the cards.

Your fairy tale frame comes out of that slot of the pack. So the one you claimed didn't have one, it was in the last rare slot (white rare fairy tale frame).
The collector packs have 6 common foils, 3 uncommon foils, 3 story art of any rarity, a rare or card from precon decks(brawl or planeswalker) a borderless and any foil rare(can be borderless)and the double sided token (one side is a creature the other is a food)
So I'm looking at other standard box openings and they do have some of these borderless alternate are showcase frames in there so in kinda asking myself why would I buy this? I think honestly if you can short the set before prices start to decline. That's my initial reaction to some of these prices.
Those foil extended art cards look pretty sweet! These seem a bit underwhelming otherwise🤷♂️
would anyone feel differently about the collectors box being worth the purchase if you get it for $230? Just curious on others opinions bc I'm thinking about giving it a go at that price point but will probably keep box sealed instead although the alternate art frames are beautiful.
Can you do a duplication summary of all the fairy card frames? It seems like a there's a lot.

So this is how Wizards split up the showcase: 2 mythic rare, 5 rare, 9 uncommons, and 14 common alternate-art showcase cards.
Since we have so few that is the cause for many duplicates
The fancy frame adventure cards remind me of Harry Potter cards.
