As a newer fan of Erra, hearing their older stuff is wild. This song is crazy. Reminds me of the Autotheism album by The Faceless. I mean, Impulse came out a year earlier, but the technical death metal vibe is similar. You don't hear this on a later album like Neon!
LYRICS Unconscious existence that lingers within, forget your inherent pride. Cling to the concept of perpetual grief and allow yourself to die. Hand over hand, you’ve made your way down to an altitude of disdain. Without neglect, perseverance became you, and you are now the same. Two In one, a mutual creature that I will not acquit. Enfold this gift of reassurance because you will soon have none of it. This, vowed by the ancestry of those displeased with your conduct. Disregard the messenger of wisdom, head his words. Reform and abduct. A conductor of the visionless will obscure his words to imprison. The sightless will follow without distraction and blindly innocent. A Conductor of the visionless will obscure his words to imprison. His dialect is fortified. Unconscious existence that lingers within, forget your inherent pride. His dialect is fortified by misunderstanding and confusion. Those following will be absolved of their existence, and the survivors living in delusion. This, vowed by the ancestry of those displeased with your conduct. Disregard the messenger of wisdom. Hand over hand, you’ve made your way down to an altitude of disdain
Out of all the Erra songs I love, this one is probably my all-time favorite. One long string of ugly, dissonant riffs that somehow sound truly beautiful when put together; and I agree with others that the outro in this song is one of the most magical moments I've ever heard.
Impulse and Augment will always be ERRA's best work in my eyes. You just can't compete with what Garrison and Alan have brought to his band. I will admit that the new LP has done much more than Drift and Neon though.
i wanna hear elitist collab with sean hall from elitist, you guys probably have the best moldy out there and hes probably the most technical, id literally cry if i heard that
Really not understanding what I'm saying huh...? This band is consistently good, whole album is good. Granted this is an opinion but I don't think BOO consistently good, I was using one of their shitty overplayed songs as an example. And technically they've only got 2 albums their other one is considered an ep. "lol"...

Yee welcome to the best album

Still timeless
Indeed
Indeed homie
damn right
That riff that starts @ 2:42 has haunted me in the most inspiring, nostalgic way since I first heard this album when it dropped
Fun fact: This song features guest vocals from the original lead singer of the band that would eventually become to be ERRA (By Blood and Iron)
THANKS FOR THE INFO BROOOOOOO
Fucking what?????? I always wondered what happend to by blood and iron🤣🤣
At 0:45 ?
@@cobeidonovan75 ye

this is the only way to describe this song but Garrison went hard on the lyrics
This somehow used to be the song on Impulse I listened to the least, back when I discovered this band in my teens. Now it's one of my favorites.
Holy mother of brutality... 0:45 - 0:50 is wow...
Still the best album to ever come out of this band. So well written and such good lyrics. It's the closest thing to musical perfection
Other than their ep this is their first album, but for a 1st it's phenomenal. I'm torn between this album & Drift. Neon is overrated
Neon is beyond awful. This and Augment are the best

Guitar is phenomenal.
They don’t age and this song is ahead of time it’s self
2:25 til End gives chillbumps like nothing else I've ever heard
+Jordan Brock One of the reasons I love this band, they have some of the sickest grooves
2:42 one of my favorite outros of all time
amen, ties everything together perfectly
Yes, like how do you even come up with something like that?
I wish it was 30 minutes long.
The screams at :45 kicked me in the throat!
This song....I just can't. Tragic Hero, please feel privileged to have worked with these guys.
AMAZING SONG!!
Heyyyyyy 👋
Thanks for reacting to this haha now only Heart is remaining i guess
The Outro!! Mother of god
Loving the last 20 seconds of the song
is a feat with Adam Langston of By Blood and Iron and yep, they kick ass!
There needs to be a series of music videos for this album telling the story behind it
yeahhhhhhhhh man that would make me appreciate them even more ! >.
I FUCKING MISS YOU GARRISON
This outro is so good, love it!
0:35 yeah this is cool building up
0:40 sweet this band's pretty cool

It's not the same idea, but have you heard Elitist's new song featuring Garrison from Erra? It's pretty epic.
Why are there such little views on these! :O
0:32 yessssss
That outro…holy shit
Boo is awesome. but these dudes are just fucking magical
If u understand the lyrics you win life
Yeet (even though this comment is 2 years old)
@Alex Lemon a band should be all around good. i dont think boo brings it nearly as much as this band "lol"
i cried at 2:29....:(
I'd rather listen to these guys than BoO for sure.
This had aged well. Erra is great and Boo is trash
@@zdream720 FACTSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

:45 seconds i jizzed a thousand times
@jhonnyappleseed312 a band
impluse
these guys are 10x better than born...every song doesnt sound the same and shit
I honestly don't get the appeal with Born of Osiris. They're boring!
Oh c'mon guys every band does it's magic. Born Of Osiris is a good band like it or not. Their songs don't sound the same...
They're okay
Born is solid, not fantastic but solid. Their sound is decent all around no complaints there but there just is no comparison between them and Erra
listen to their old shit not that same poly-rhythm shit that they have now
Why all the comparisons to BOO?
That Intro...
Lee mckinney spends too much time doing his hair on instagram. 000-1-000-111-00 workin on baby formula LALAHA
The discovery by Born of Osiris is sick their latest album redefines the words mediocre and Boring
