sitting vertically is actually bad for your back because there is pressure on your spine. There have been studies on this and one found that a reclined position of 130 degrees is best because their is not much pressure on your back. Obviously it would be bad to be at 130 degrees when driving but some recline would be better than vertical.
I do actually have a couple of other questions regarding truck driving. You don't have to answer all of them.Anything can help. The trucking business is all about meeting deadlines, especially where deliveries are concerned. How do you make sure that you meet deadlines when driving? What is the longest drive you have managed in your career? Do you think there is any importance of team work in this profession? How would you incorporate technology into your position as a driver and what benefit do you believe it offers in your line of work? What are your views about driving safety? What do you think are the main duties of a truck driver?

i have a memo seat in my juggernught but every now and then i adust my seat. this vid is informative i'll keep all of that in mind but the food part are already in my mind. good video thanks for shareing this.
There's no hood because EU and Scandinavian regulations state that the length of the trailer is measured from bumper to bumper unlike in North America and Australia, where it is measured from back of the cabin to rear bumper. So hooded trucks would be quite impractical in EU because you can't carry as much load as with cabforward style truck. Usually only dump trucks are hooded in EU, because maximum weight is more limiting factor than volume.
It's not because we ''love'' them. It's because our roads are alot smaller and thinner than the american roads. With these ''Cab over trucks'' you have a much better turning radius and the size is alot more usefull here. Especially the finnish roads can be VERY small, where such a Peterbilt, Kenworth or whatever would not have a big chance to come through. And btw., in germany the trucks length is limited to18 meter, so around 59 feet. Such a long nose truck would make it way too long.
2 questions Have you ever faced lower back pain when truck driving for long hours? What did you do to solve them? Have you ever faced any other ergonomics problems? If so, what did you do to solve them?
Drivers, what are your long term experiences in trucking? Can you drive for a long time (30 years) without consequences? I'm thinking of starting a trucking career but I don't want to ruin my back... Please, answer. Thank you!
Aleeeex1055 You realize it's not just Scanias that are like this. All European trucks, be it Scanias, Volvos, Ivecos, Sisus, Mercedes-Benzs, DAFs, or Mans, all have the bonnet like that.
come on.... If you are a big Guy and you are sitting in the typical "Scania-Driver-Position" then put the Seat completely down and back. Get the Steering wheel away from you and pull the Curtains so that they are, at least, in Line with your Shoulders. And let them Shoes out of the Cab and put them on the upper Stair. And if i had to drink Water and eat Salad after a hard Day working im gonna put a Shotgun in my Mouth and pull the Trigger.
