I might be wrong, but from what I remember, LEON, LOLA, Miriam, MEIKO, KAITO, Big Al, and Sweet Ann were all in development at the same time by YAMAHA (of course, Big Al and Sweet Ann would be delayed until Vocaloid2).
They didn't. Kaito and Meiko (originally codenamed "Taro" and "Hanako" respectively) along with Leon and Lola were originally developed for "Daisy" (this was the name for the program before Yamaha decided on "Vocaloid") during the same general time frame. Leon and Lola were both officially released on January 15, 2004, Meiko was released on November 5, 2004, and Kaito was released on February 14, 2006. From what I can gather, Lola and Leon were the only vocals to be showcased during the "Daisy Project" era, while K+M were showcased LATER when the project had already been renamed to "Vocaloid." Information on this era of Vocaloid is a bit scarce unfortunately, so I'm not entirely sure if Leon and Lola got their first showcase in 2002 or if it was in 2003. I love how you always keep our memory about old vocaloid history alive with your video.. Thanks❤
i love how in the coachella clip you can clearly hear a guy yelling "YAAAASS MIKU!!"
*a lot of these are really iconic, and the v6 release in 2022 one just reminded me that that’s how long and how far the voicebanks programs for the vocaloids have been going for.*
Thanks for the video! It's so cool to look back on all these moments
i genuinely thought teto's synth-v reveal was another elaborate hoax at first when i saw it last year, i'm not gonna lie
Us Finnish people contributed to Vocaloid with Ievan Polkka, you guys are welcome🫡
I was nor here for the first 8 years of vocaloid and my first ever vocaloid song was candle queen if I remember right, it's cool to see how much it's grown over the years
being born a year before Kagamine Rin and Kagamine Len makes me so kinda sad but i’m glad i was able to be here for these big milestones i remember going nuts for Teto, Vocaloid6, Colorful stage, TETOS SYNTHV RELEASE EEEEE I LOVE VOCALOID SM
Sound wise I feel like the voice banks peaked at V3, but I do love the growl function in V4. I had no idea there was a V5 and 6 though lol. V2 Luka is the best Luka though imo cause they keep pitching up her voice in later voice banks.
Thank you so much for making this!! Now I don't have to pull out my slide presentation when I introduce people to vocaloid
1:53 the banger that brought me here 😂
u make the best vocaloid vids out there I swearrr
of course the first vocaloid song uploaded to niconico is touhou related
Melt may just be the most important vocaloid song
I take comfort in the idea that there are other people who remember these and appreciate them like I do
The fact that these things happened is such a happy thing that it kind of hurts
Thanks for making this Minnemi
1:45 a queen is born 👑❤
hurts my heart that they don’t teach this in history class
1:46 Our Lord and saviour, our queen, a legend was born.
Ok now add the main 6 being added into V6
i got goosebumps during 6:35 😭 like, i was already consuming vocaloid at this point so i remember being excited even though i was just a child 😭😭😭 damn those were happy days
yoo sick vid like always!!!❤❤
8:24 im still salty that they did miku dirty at Coachella
Vocaloid 3 was the golden era. So many Vocaloids came out back then!
1:51 happy 17th b-day, miku.
History and Vocaloid are two of my favorite things ever, I'm SO happy rn
6:23 another queen was born 🔥
Maaaan this makes me so nostalgic 🥺 I remember being there from when I was a kid, watching the first big Len and Rin songs be released ❤
all of the drama is coming back to me now, people saying Iroha sounds just like Len for example 😂
I also vividly remembers IAs release because she was my favorite voice back then omg
Wow, i thought i knew alot already but there was some i learned about, also it must have been so cool to see this stuff happen in real time
Special thanks for making this video
