Datin shares his story of growing up in the hip hop scene and how God captured his heart during that time. Datin also shares his thoughts on the current state of Christian Hip Hop.
T-Bone, I grew up listening to you in the 90's and was greatly impacted by it. A few of your songs I used during my prayer time as it helped me seek the presence of God. Your song "Thief In The Night" was one that I used to evangelize others about Christ's return and to get ready. Thank you so much for your ministry. Datin, I thank God for you and your steadfastness in Christ. You are a diamond in the rough. You are one of the few who consistently, clearly, and boldly proclaim Christ in your music. I love it. Your song "Hell In The Hallway" really helped one of my former students that I pastored in youth ministry deal with difficulties in his marriage. He was really blessed by it. I want to say to both you and T-Bone that you are 100% correct that it is extremely rare to find a song that has that anointing oil in it anymore. I grew up listening to Cross-Movement, Corey Red, MC-Precise, Raiderz of the Lost, Gospel Gangstaz, Tre-Z Aka Todd Bangz, just to name a few. I go back and listen to those guys and you can feel the oil, the passion to preach Christ, the desire to sincerely bring glory to his kingdom. I don't see that in CHH as whole anymore. I'm glad that I at least have the God Over Money squad, Sevin, Da Truth and others who are still repping Christ. I felt the Holy Spirit strongly while listening to this interview and I know why. My spirit could feel the passion for the gospel coming from both of you and it refreshed me. I have to salute a Christian when I see one, and I just want to say that I have the utmost respect for you brothers. Keep fighting the good fight of faith. Keep standing for Christ. I'm standing with you. God bless you brothers.
