Unpopular Opinion- Many people were and some are still saying that the T20 final knock of 2024 by Virat Kohli was too slow and would have been the biggest reason if India would have lost that match only if bumrah, arshdeep, and hardik's legendary death over spell would not have been successful then it was a lost game. But I beg to differ because in that situation if kohli's wicket would have been lost in 20s-30s if he played with just intent of hitting boundaries then due to pressure of early wickets Axar, dube could not have played that much fearlessly and our score would have been around 150 instead of 176. And we would not have a decent total to defend.
The ball Dhoni left was the last ball of the over and he wanted to give Jadja more strike while taking minimum risk as there no other batsmen left. Jadeja had the luxury to take risk only because MSD was there. You guys need to understand that we were 6 down and one more wicket could result in All out and that did happened. The main reason we lost the match was sending MSD at 7 and top order failure. It was the worst decision by the caption and management as MSD was no longer the power hitter he should to be and it is the responsibility of caption and coach to assign role to invidual which suits them best. MSD should have came at 5 in the match and DK and hardik should have kept at the end. Even DK said after the match that he was suprised to be sent at 5 as his role was power hitting. Completely agree with the point on Dhoni. He didn’t single-handedly make things bad for India, but given his stature & experience it was pretty poor from him. Same goes for KL Rahul in 2023 Finals, objectively he scored the most runs given how guys like Gill, Surya & Iyer contributed nothing (although they were only playing their first odi wc but you can criticise surely) but only those who witnessed that innings know how painful it was to experience, considering his experience and merit in the format.
Imo, ICC tournaments are fine. Better than white ball bilaterals. Plus ODI WC is the pinnacle which happens every four years, T20 WC every 2 years gives chance for associates, WTC every 2 years is also fine since its just one-off test match. CT makes ODIs relevant. Example India played their top team vs Sri Lanka for CT preparation.

One point about Dhoni being the reason why we lost which people overlook is , leaving that intent less knock , he dropped a catch , missed a run out and gave 4 runs as extras . All this also contributed towards NZ victory . Hereby by not just batting but in all aspects Dhoni ensured NZ play 2 back to back WC finals

By not departing early or missing a 50+ score it doesn't mean he played a better innings than rohit for god sakes both of his 40+ scores against aus and nz came at a 100+ stirke rate that too with initial 10 overs where he was attacking like insane. 29:45 guys here me out i am waiting for since one month hey guys what do you think on renovation in cricket i think few renovation is must needed like in odi 2027 wc in final give a farewell to odi and odi only play in under 19wc,becouse people are not exited, and that is true and in one over 5 balles and each over take 3mins to over, that means a t20 1st inning end in 1 hours and a match in 2 hours😮, and after a wicket batsmen came in ground under 30 sec , 5mins innings break and all that a t20 match end in aprox 2;30 hours, If we consider add and extra time too. Unpopular Opinion- Many people were and some are still saying that the T20 final knock of 2024 by Virat Kohli was too slow and would have been the biggest reason if India would have lost that match only if bumrah, arshdeep, and hardik's legendary death over spell would not have been successful then it was a lost game.
But I beg to differ because in that situation if kohli's wicket would have been lost in 20s-30s if he played with just intent of hitting boundaries then due to pressure of early wickets Axar, dube could not have played that much fearlessly and our score would have been around 150 instead of 176.
And we would not have a decent total to defend.

The ball Dhoni left was the last ball of the over and he wanted to give Jadja more strike while taking minimum risk as there no other batsmen left. Jadeja had the luxury to take risk only because MSD was there. You guys need to understand that we were 6 down and one more wicket could result in All out and that did happened. The main reason we lost the match was sending MSD at 7 and top order failure. It was the worst decision by the caption and management as MSD was no longer the power hitter he should to be and it is the responsibility of caption and coach to assign role to invidual which suits them best. Completely agree with the point on Dhoni. He didn’t single-handedly make things bad for India, but given his stature & experience it was pretty poor from him. By not departing early or missing a 50+ score it doesn't mean he played a better innings than rohit for god sakes both of his 40+ scores against aus and nz came at a 100+ stirke rate that too with initial 10 overs where he was attacking like insane.
