Does anyone else think that this Movie was A Masterpiece? I think it was.
The years of experience from the previous films are noticeable. It was his best work in my opinion
It is a masterpiece. And anything else is an understatement.
It was amazing. They brilliantly brought the real life tragedy to a screen (how Suzume lost her only parent during the Tohoku earthquake and had to move with her aunt from Sendai to Kyuushu, in real life those children are Suzume's age right now). It made me cry when Suzume saw all these people who said their usual morning goodbyes and some never came back. They even mentioned The Great Kantō earthquake (1923) when mentioning how the gate in Tokyo almost opened 100 years ago.
Listening to little Suzume asking everyone if they’d seen her mommy was an absolute gut punch.
I love the Suzume OST... All other songs were so memorable too, like Grandscape, Sparkle, Nandemonaiya all of them are masterpieces... But this OST hits different, it's amazing!
I’ve seen this movie twice, and I want to see it again so bad!!! Suzume is easily the best movie I’ve seen so far this year and will no doubt be the best movie I’ve seen all year, and it’s currently my personal favorite of Makoto Shinkai’s films. Suzume herself is adorable, and you root for her and Souta throughout the film, and the ending had me choked up, to where I couldn’t stop crying, and it still hits me emotionally every time I think about it. Overall I absolutely loved this movie, cannot wait for the Blu-ray release and I would love to add a figure of Suzume to my collection.
Such a good movie. i watched this just before the earthquake that happend this year a few days ago. it made me so sad. Hope the people whose loved once passed away in that earthquake recover and find their place in the world again.
