    What’s your springtime running shoe at the moment?

  • @SagasuRunning
    @SagasuRunning Рік тому +24

    Completely agree on the heel slip issues being WAY blown out of proportion... AND...the fact the Invincible 3 is firmer and (more) versatile. The strobel board IS the game changer for this shoe. I talked about the same things in my initial review and am continually surprised as I keep running in them. Lot's to talk about in a long term review for sure. Great video, fair and based on experience!

      I put the shoe on I felt the heel slippage a little bit right away. Gave them a go 1st day ran a 10k on the treadmill and boy did the heel slippage go away and I noticed how this shoe kept me striding easier and better its weird lol. I was scared out of the box but they win me over in the same day.

      @@Vaiz15 yep pretty much the same for me

      I did notice the heel slip when I first put them on. Lacing them a little tighter fixed the problem.

    I knew it! Thank you for confirming my suspicions on a “plate”. The firmness and change in flexibility in the midsole made me think there was a plate of some sort.

    • @FreshBrewRunClub
      @FreshBrewRunClub  Рік тому +1

      Yep. I’ve added “strobel board” to the list of things I’m paying attention to in a show. Thanks for watching!

    No heel slippage for me! More bounce, more cushion, more stable than previous versions. Like going on rails. No "drama", like in v 1 and v2. Propels you forward in a narural way. Even much better when picking the pace.

    • @FreshBrewRunClub
      @FreshBrewRunClub  2 місяці тому

      Great to hear! Love the idea of a shoe having “drama”. I might need to use that in a future video review for a dramatic shoe

    I'd wish Nike would make a shoe with the Inv1 midsole and outsole and the Inv 3 upper, that would be perfect.

    • @FreshBrewRunClub
      @FreshBrewRunClub  Рік тому

      I’d maybe toss in the interior heel collar padding of the Invincible 2 and we might have the perfect shoe

      Try Asics nimbus 26 i came from invincible 1 and have to say its very similar in feel because the sole is thicker, bit faster also. 👍

    I rock heavily with the Zoomx foam, coming back from injury it’s given me the ability to start working my way up to more miles and chase Pr’s and scholarships. The invincible 3 may be a different type of shoe, but I’m glad you’re giving it the attention it nonetheless deserves

    I just recently got this shoe, have like 40 miles on it. The only concern that i have is blisters. I don’t if its the material and shape of the shoe or maybe just the break in period. But after a 12m run it got me this big blister located on sole near the arch and ball of my foot.

  • @danielmoore9214
    @danielmoore9214 Рік тому +1

    I have run about 600 miles in my Invincible 2s and only moderate outsole wear and minor mid-sole creasing.

    • @FreshBrewRunClub
      @FreshBrewRunClub  Рік тому

      I got 500 miles in the original Invincibles, but I could tell that by 400, the foam was pretty shot. I probably shouldn’t have pushed for 500

    • @danielmoore9214
      @danielmoore9214 Рік тому +1

      @@FreshBrewRunClub Maybe your right. I usually judge them by how creased that midsole is and how worn the outsole is but these seem to have held up well despite a 94kg footstrike and well over 500 miles. How do you gauge how compacted the midsole is ? Also which would you recommend for a max cush, the Invincible 3 or the Nimbus 25 please ?

    • @FreshBrewRunClub
      @FreshBrewRunClub  Рік тому

      @@danielmoore9214 I really just went by feel. They lost a lot of their bounciness and it felt like my feet were slapping the ground more. I haven’t run in the Nimbus in about 15 years, but I think that’ll be the next shoe I try.

    What model out of the 3 of the Nike invincible line would you say has been the best out of all of them?

    • @FreshBrewRunClub
      @FreshBrewRunClub  6 місяців тому

      I’d say the v1, although the v1 and v2 are basically the same shoe. The v2’s ankle collar area has a rougher fabric material, which I wore down because I kick the inside of my ankle. But I liked the bounce much better than the v3. However, the v3 is still a decent shoe. Just not as fun

    I’ve been researching for the best beginner shoes and it’s overwhelming, do you think this is a good shoe for a beginner?

    • @FreshBrewRunClub
      @FreshBrewRunClub  Рік тому +4

      I’d start with something a little more neutral like the Pegasus or New Balance 1080. Those shoes can do a lot of different runs, and you can figure out from there if you like something with more cushion, stability, etc.

  • @LilG-yl4gn

    I’m thinking about getting the Invincible Run 3’s for easy/slow runs. Would they be bad to use for my XC practices? (running up hills and trails)

    • @FreshBrewRunClub
      @FreshBrewRunClub  Рік тому

      I think they should be ok, as long as you aren’t running on really difficult trails that need a lot of grip or stability. This is more of a road shoe, but it can handle some light trails. If you need something more durable, I really like the Pegasus Trail line. They’re great on trails but also pretty good for road running.

    I've been looking everywhere lately for the same model of Invincible 2 that you have (sail colorway), but couldn't find it anywhere unfortunately. I really love how it looks, and the upper looks way more comfortable and less rigid/synthetic than the Invincible 3. I was looking to use them for casual comfort, not running, so the softness is perfect for that and the durability wouldn't be as much of an issue. Hope I'll get lucky and find a pair some time..

      Thanks for watching! I would recommend this, especially with plantar fasciitis. I ran a marathon in the Invincible 2 and it was fine, and the 3 is even better for a marathon. Not the fastest shoe in the world, but comfort can be more important than speed in many cases
