i havent read all the comments, just the last few...but the driver here is not a terrible driver who is pussyfooting around the track. Sure, there are a couple of places for improvement, but who doesnt need improvement in some areas of their driving? And with as much hp as this thing makes, it is pretty easy to get yourself in over your head. i think he did a pretty good job
Its a tilt measurement. Notice when he brakes, accelerates, or corners on and off curves how it reacts. When he goes around a corner to the right it goes to the left, if he brakes on that corner it goes forward depending on how hard he brakes.
hey man, just a suggestion, is there anyway to put what gear your in, you have throttle, speedo, gmeter, and tac, but a little gage reading the gear would be helpful
MOST of my Experience on R-A is on a bike... but I have driven it also. I think those are Respectable lap times! My only 'critique' would be to be smoother, and earlier, on the throttle coming thru the apex and turn-exit. I know you have to be mindful of 'drifting' the rear with too much too soon... but I did notice you waiting until you were nearly straight, and the 'stomping' the gas... Perhaps you aren't using 'heel & toe'... but as you release your last bit of trail-braking, you should be easing down smoothly on the throttle as you hit the apex... that bit of time you seem to be 'coasting' to the outer edge of your exit.. you should already be smoothly mashing the accelerator... you will be moving faster, as you exit, without shocking the tires, even before you get to your current spot of 'full Gas' so you will have time to build a bit more top speed heading to #10a. Make #8 & #9 as straight as possible, even if you touch the curb just a bit. The less direction-change / right and left, the more top speed you can hold to the drop into #10a. You are doing a Very good job, and I am not being 'critical' in a mean-spirited way... just a suggestion how you might shave just a bit more time. For "Fun Laps" it doesn't matter... but at race time, that few fractions in some of those corners -- especially the ones that open into a straightaway -- can be just enough for you to be in front on one of those 'photo-finishes'... (o: And managing that weight-transfer from braking [front bias] to accelerating [rear bias] with OUT any 'coasting' in-between means the tires that are working hardest are being pressed against the track the hardest... and getting the best friction-coefficient for traction. You can practice those transitions in your everyday driving, so it becomes 'the natural way' you go thru a curve... the 'Seat of the Pants' sensations of weight transfer and lateral forces are something you miss on 'Computer Racing'... (Smile)
Let's see - work hard in life and take your $80,000 Vette to the track to enjoy. Do you A) drive beyond the limits of the car; B) drive beyond the limits of your skill; C) drive beyond the limits of the other drivers' skill and potentially cause an accident; or D) drive the Vette home? I don't know about you...but I prefer "D".
Hell yea! Some track-based Vette action! Fast car, I love the Air-IntakeTemp readout, especially if it were to be on a boosted Vette! Fun to watch with traffic. More track vids please, or some TA vids even would be awesome, though only a couple TA Vettes out there.
When do we get a camera in one of those porsches? I love the way those corner! Makes me wish the C7 will be mid engine...but then I 'memember I in 'Merica! FUCKK YEAAUUURRHHHH!
Very conservative, no heel/toe and a lot of time left all over the track...still turning 1:37's...makes me think this car isn't a stock c6z or it's on slicks considering how conservative. E36 BMW Prepared cars run these times with 280hp and a little aero. Hopefully goin a little faster these days. Temps rock steady though.
Put safety equipment in your car and run a track day. Don't matter if you're 17 or 42, they'll let you race if you jump through the right hoops to get in.
Yeah Forza has really taken racing sim above and beyond. Now they just need it for the PC and with engine tuning! Engine tuning and sponsors would make forza 99% real life, I mean I don't know much more they could do!
Don't listen to most of the dipshits on here. Anything under 1:50 on street tires and 1:40 on R6's is pretty dang good. I've only run one weekend at RA, but will be back in June with NASA. I was pulling consistent 1:44's in my Viper on street tires. After watching my videos, I'm 100% confident I can get into the 1:30's time. It's a pretty hairy track with some of the blind areas and some areas with little run-off before a wall. I'd much rather leave a few seconds out there instead of my car.
Man I feel cool because I know the turns from Forza Motorsport 4 LOL wish I could really drive on this course, too bad I'm 17 and they wouldn't let me on it with a scooter probably! Hahaha, anyways my 2003 sable would burn these cars! Who needs a 7.0 Liter Corvette anyways!...actually I do...
Looks like my mom is driving. Come on man don't go buy a z06 and waste your time driving like that, I think you need to start out with something a little slower.

that was a viper gtr if i'm not mistaken... it sounded like hell unleashed as it passed! nice post though. i've always loved corvettes!

1:37s in a street car is more than respectable at RA.

What were you using for the telemetry and video recording?

I'd love to drive on this course. Nice job on the video.
Gran Turismo VI is out already?
Nice drivin man! Do you have to pay for an open track day? If so, how much?
Why are you issuing takedown requests for other videos taken at Road Atlanta? Do you think you own all video shot at RA?
what car was it that passed at 1:00

Its an accelerometer..measures G-force. Shows the body acceleration and direction of the car.

And here we are, seven years later... with the C8 being mid engine. Congrats, you got your wish!
Damn GT6 looks and sounds AMAZING!
is it stock?
Does anyone know what the target looking thing was for??
Gforce
Was hoping the camera would jump off and hitch a ride on the yellow vette.
this is hightechCORVETTE ;)
whoa...the realism on this one is out the Park..
Nice Z06 Troy. He's running about the same laptimes as 220whp JP BMW that can be driven to the track

the car @1:00 is sex
Viper?
love to take my vic on that course
viper GT3 maybe?
Dude.. I'm 18 and I drive a 1995 Geo Tracker, sad for me.
Jesus dude, I thought at the halfway mark you'd let your balls drop. I guessed wrong. Seems High Tech Corvette will slap their name on anything.
I'll wait for your video of you doing better, cheers.
LOL way to set the bar. Just watch my channel pal..
@1barak1 Looked like a racing viper

i couldn't do a lap this quickly, and i'm sure i wouldn't try to go faster if i had a car that nice, but this is a pretty slow lap
Damn that porsche is quick
Thumbs up if you first heard about Road Atlanta because of Forza.
lmfao! i was going to say the exact same thing about Forza.. i new this track looked familiar!
Put safety equipment in your car and run a track day. Don't matter if you're 17 or 42, they'll let you race if you jump through the right hoops to get in.
Nice!
thats a badd azz Z06
viper sounded like a lmp car wow
dude! i know it from forza too! lol i wish i could use my dads C5 on it :P
cooooool
before you ask, if you dont have a dog one is provided for you.
nsx was dope
ironic, viper strikes from nowhere :D
He needs to practice better throttle control. His racing line seems fine, but he doesn't know how to modulate throttle coming out of the corners.
...what?
you let a viper pass you? *sigh*
It seems like Troy’s Z06 is walking at Road Atlanta instead of running.
damn
Why so slow??🤨
It's granny driving???
Yeah Forza has really taken racing sim above and beyond. Now they just need it for the PC and with engine tuning! Engine tuning and sponsors would make forza 99% real life, I mean I don't know much more they could do!
forza 4 ftw, is when i see these real driving on the courses that we see how realistic that game is.

Step on the fucking GO pedal. Jeez. I've driven harder on local 2 lanes.
I did a 1:59 in a vw bug
Ive held 10 mph faster than that through turn one in a 1.6 miata.
what if you're 15? haha
Man I feel cool because I know the turns from Forza Motorsport 4 LOL wish I could really drive on this course, too bad I'm 17 and they wouldn't let me on it with a scooter probably! Hahaha, anyways my 2003 sable would burn these cars! Who needs a 7.0 Liter Corvette anyways!...actually I do...
haha ya forza 4 ftw "chaostic"
Look yall, its scaredy Mcpete. Its too much for me!!!
Looks like my mom is driving. Come on man don't go buy a z06 and waste your time driving like that, I think you need to start out with something a little slower.
Have any vids of yourself driving at Road Atlanta? Just curious.
he is going 1:37 around road atlanta, that's fast.
wanna play? lol
