Aqaba Terminal: First Fully Electric Container Handling in the Middle East

🤝 In a groundbreaking public-private partnership earlier in May 2024, the Aqaba Container Terminal (ACT) in Jordan is set to become the first container terminal in the Middle East to utilize fully electric container handling equipment 🔋
🔌As part of this initiative, APM Terminals is replacing diesel-powered equipment with electric alternatives and significantly increasing the use of renewable energy at ACT. From electric vehicle charging stations to integrated solar solutions, ACT is pioneering innovations that will drive economic growth for the Kingdom of Jordan and support APM Terminals’ global commitment to port decarbonization.
