No one is talking about how the Sun's backcourt dominated the Fever's. There are 3 things I took from that game: 1) Caitlin needs a lot of work on defense, 2) she has no clue how to play as a team, 3) she does have the tools and mechanics to fix what isn't at the WNBA level and reach her potential. Seriously, a 41% usage in a rookie debut? How clueless of 'me me me' player do you have to get your a$$ handed to you by the opposing backcourt?
Luka Doncic once made 11 turnovers in a playoffs game but it never became the headline while CC as a rookie made 10 and people are saying it's insane.
It is... Luka runs the offense and Luka has the ball 90 percent of the time so I can understand if you turn it over alot but if you don't have the ball like dat you hurting the team
Michael Lombardi and Pat McAfee are right she’s earned so much respect in such short amount of time. 2.1 million people in the US alone watched her debut and ticket prices to her matches are up over 200% for her next few games. Sold out an arena that hasn’t been sold out since 2003. 20 points in her debut professional game between 5 and 10 points short of 4 of the greatest basketball players in NBA history.
It’s her 1st game. You would think instead of hating are on her be thankful on the coverage. More people now are watching the WNBA. Normally there’s only 3k-4K fans in attendance.

I never watched a WNBA game but I watched to see if they were going to ruff her up. That’s why I watched.

Thank you. Too many stat nerds are discounting that Caitlin was throwing to spots at which her teammates should've been. Used to faster-moving teammates at Iowa, who ran quickly on transitions, the Fever players were slower. So just saying 10 turnovers is a number on paper, but, if you watched the game, you'd see the Fever has to pick it up a little. Boston is a little slow.

If you are a true fan of sports the WNBA would get it's viewers!! CC is overshadowing the other great rookies ONLY because she has sponsorship AND network backing... Reese AND Cardoso have CHAMPIONSHIPs they know how to WIN......CC only broke records she hasn't won on the big stage AND ironically she's being pushed ahead of 2 rookie players that beat her back2back championship games... I'm in all of their corners!! Hopefully this will bring light to the sport & pay these women for the hard work they are putting in the work. Brinks/ Jackson had a great game & no one is talking about ALL THE GREAT ROOKIES IN THIS CLASS!!

Seriously, Caitlin is a great talent who I'm sure will adjust to the Pros but this was not some off the charts debut. Remember she had a 41% usage to get only 20 pts and 3 assists to go with 10 turnovers and allowing the Sun's Carrington and Harris to dominate the backcourt from foul line to foul line, which is kind of embarrassing. She needs to get the ball out of her hand, learn to move better without the ball, and at some point find some WNBA level defensive skills. I am absolutely sure Caitlin will adapt and grow as a player and will become a perennial all star, but they allow her to keep that 41% usage rate they will not make the playoffs much less be a title contender. For comparison, other players' career usage rate: LaBron 31.5, Curry sitting around 30, Jordan 33.3, Mr. Ballhog Allen Iverson 32%... 41% and she only played 32 minutes. You can slather on as much lipstick as you want but that pig of a stat line is still less than all star material. Rookies gonna rookie and she didn't have the worst debut ever but she didn't have a very good one either.
Again, she's a rookie, she has the no fear guts of a burglar and I love that about her. I think she will end up as one of the greats, however if her usage stays that high the Fever will never be contenders and if her efficiency running the offense does not improve she will be just a name that never lived up to the hype.

Laettner played with multiple NBA lottery picks at the same time at a program which went to Final Fours prior to and after he played there. He was also the 3rd overall pick in his draft, despite being the national player of the year.
Peyton Manning lead the league in turnovers in his rookie year but he was top 5 in both tds and yards. Everyone knew he was going to be great. I would not be surprised if a similar thing happens to Clark.
