The Robstown community reacts do Johnny Canales's death

For many in Robstown, it’s a sad day after learning Johnny Canales died.
“He invented that saying, you got it!” Charlie Cabrera and Rolando Molina, both with the Robstown ISD band said.
Here in Robstown, Caneles is a legend who’s known his music and time on T.V. in the Coastal Bend.
“My uncle was right-hand man for Domingo Peña, he lifted it up high,” Gloria Canales, Johnny’s niece said.
Many in the Robstown community are mourning the loss of Johnny.
Johnny was a husband, father, T.V. host, Tejano musician, and more.

First and Foremost. My condolences to the family. I met Johnny once on or about 2008 at the radio station owned by Mr. Lopez in Corpus Christi. My brother Manuel Montemayor was promoting conjunto baraja de oro from Dallas, Texas. Johnny did the interview and had them perform live. What I saw and heard of Johnny was incredible. So many talented groups were exposed to the tejano fans and viewers all over by Johnny Canales. This man not only helped so many talented groups to their success. Johnny was also a talented tejano legendary musician. His professionalism can do attitude and support to the tejano communities to include other countries such as Mexico 🇲🇽 will not go unnoticed by the Tejano fans, but more so by those he helped succeed in the music business. This man Johnny Canales deserves much respect and a standing ovation. As a veteran, he is to be recognized with honor, courage, and commitment for his service to our country. America 🇺🇸. (R.I.P.) MR.
