You use two reds: a warm cadmium and a cool alizarin. Why do you not also have a warm and a cool yellow / blue? You have an ultramarine blue, which is warm but not a cerulean which is cooler.etc. I guess I shouldn’t expect an answer since you haven’t responded to any other comments.
This is very good sense! I use this all the time, perhaps with the addition of a dark brown like Burnt Umber. The main point is, to use this as your nucleus, then add the guest colours when needed.
What colors do you suggest for working with a palette of only the 3 primaries+white? I have been working with a limited palette lately, and I was using: Ultramarine Blue, Lemon Yellow, and Alizarin Crimson. What would you say are probably the best colors for the most versatile primaries for mixing? For example; what blues would you suggest (Cerulean, pthalo, etc?) or so on. Please, and thank you!
