- Vibe Makana 100 unboxing and walkthrough of how I will have it rigged up when I hit the water. The Makana100 is the new 10 foot pedal kayak that Vibe Kayaks released earlier this year. There are some awesome features unique to this kayak as well as some major upgrades from Vibe that will impact other boats in their line up!

Probably the best walkthrough video on this kayak out there. Very well thought out and put together. I would love to see what it looks like on the water. Keep up the good work!
I got the version 2 of the Shearwater 125 with the beefy shirmp clips and all the new up grades I love it I have taken it to TEXAS & FLORIDA great in choppy water; Like you I am 6'2 and I was looking at the MAKANA also.
Great walkthrough!
Great job, and a very nicely thought out boat. Good luck with it. Yesterday I picked up a Hobie Passport 10.5. I did not know that the Makana existed. Seems like an incredible deal with a lot more to offer than the PP. I also have a Native Max 10, seems the Vibe is more in line with the Max, rather than the Hobie. I paid $1,619. For the Passport.
Great review, definitely on my radar now. Are you going to do a follow up proformance review in the water soon?
I definitely will be doing a follow up review! I just took it out for the first time yesterday and will do an on the water review the next time I go out.
The rudder is the flaw that kayak OK for pawns and legs but no good for the ocean. It's not wide enough.
Can you run it without the peddle drive in? What if you want to go lite and not have peddle drive in at all?
I've been thinking about picking up a Makana and am also 6ft4in. My concern is the legroom from seat to pedals in a 10ft boat.
Now that you've had the yak a few months, how do you like it and how is the legroom?
How is the drive in shallow water? Can you “flutter kick” to move through shallow water like the Hobie drive? I am considering one of these over an Outback for river fishing.
Great review, how’s standing on it?
It's very easy to stand on it! I feel just as stable or even more stable than I do standing on my Vibe Shearwater125. I think the squared off stern of the boat drastically improves the stability.
What’s your height and weight. Everything seems great otherwise just looking for some perspective here.
I’m 6’4 225
I bought the shearwater 125 and will be selling it soon because it's just too big and heavy for me as I am 5'4 and have back problems. I am looking to buy the makana 100 seems it seems smaller and way lighter than the shearwater. How good is the makana in terms of stability and speed?
Esse pedal tem ré ?
I used a translator to read your comment. I think I’m answering your question. This pedal drive does not have reverse, but Vibe will be releasing a new drive soon that does have reverse.
