Not gonna lie, was full on expecting a disaster based on the launch show but my goodness Kai must be an amazing teacher! Well done Kaye and Kai!
Kai is nothing short of genius for making Kaye look vaguely competent. Hoping this will give her confidence to perform bigger next week
For someone who has never danced before, Kaye did very well even though there was a couple of mistakes and she was very nervous. Kai will be a great teacher for her as she learns to dance.

Even a year later, I'm heartbroken that AJ and Kai couldn't perform in the final. I feel a bit bad for him this year. Obviously Kaye can improve from this but...she's no AJ.
Trust me, me too, IMO she should win, and many of her dances were underscored
Every pro at one point has to have an avg partner. It’s only his second partner he’ll be fine.

Love Kai, and my God did he earn his paycheque there! He was dancing for both of them. I do not mean that in the usual lazy sense of the professional showboating to distract from his partner, but in him constantly putting her in position and getting her to move in the right direction. She looked very nervous and uncomfortable. But it’s only the first dance. Many people have put in less than promising first showings and gone on to improve drastically. She showed she could make some good lines and can be flexible, which is good.
I had a feeling she'd be stiff & awkward & i was right , But i can deffo see how Kai was dancing for them both & he is very talented is putting her in the right positions .
I just love Kai he's a great partner for Kay who is shy but he's so chilled out this is a great pairing

When watching Kaye's video introduction my first thought was "if Anton wasn't now a judge she'd be paired with him", but what a pleasant surprise, I'm not sure if it is just the dance that suited her rigidness and therefore she looked better than she really is, or if she will turn out to be the dark horse in the competition.

I give Kaye and Kai a 5. Pleasantly surprised at this routine. Your face channelled the Tango beautifully, but it was quite soft for the Tango and lacked staccato. Also, Kai sometimes had to push you into place. But some great moments!
I'll admit I was expecting far worse. Kai has done well to make Kaye passable here. I think nerves got the better of her, it was littered with mistakes, the footwork wasn't great, and her head was seldom where it should have been. 3

It seems the alter ego has worked for the most part xD. The choreography and routine was amazingly put together so well done to Kai for that. It started so well I thought Kaye had been replaced for a second. Maybe the Addams family won't be torn apart as quick as I thought. I liked when she got into hold and the attempt at staccato and knife hold but sadly too many mistakes and for me the head snaps were missing entirely which is a shame. Nerves got the better of her, but it was still rather nice. Not a complete write off. Loved the bar and mood for this.
What knife hold? You seem to think you're some professional who knows what they're talking about and that everyone loves your comments but you really haven't a clue

It was actually better than I thought it would be but still not great. Her footwork wasn't great, nor was her head position, and she made quite a few mistakes. On the positives, she attempted the flexed knee, and her frame wasn't too bad. Kai is an amazing teacher and I think he'll turn her into a dancer though (somewhat)

Shocker for me! Kaye definately needs to have a bit more confidence in her movements because she did an exceptional job in the footwook. Some movements where a bit pederstrian and it did look like Kai was carrying her for a split second but for the overall concept of a Tango, she did pretty good for week one.

Heard about Kaye. seen her a little bit. not really interested. but now i am....come om Kaye. that was fantastic.
Kaye had talent, her problem was she was not up in the public's faces . Shame she was better than almost all of the finalists

Not quite as bad as I had anticipated. Definitely wasn't short on content and performance value. Unfortunately the footwork was quite messy at times and her frame wasn't tight enough. I liked the choreo though

I wish whenever I saw Kaye Adams I didn’t automatically link her to Nadia Sawalha (a woman I can’t abide) I believe Kaye to be a good soul but for the life of me I don’t get how she can be such good friends to NS, who is renowned for lying and spinning yarns for the sake of sounding interesting.
Talk about chalk & cheese..
But yeah Kaye did okay for her first dance, all things considering:)

Wanted her to go all the way genuine contender, most have been on stage for years shouldn't put them in this lady is what it's supposed to be about. Glad I don't need to watch anymore.
SHE HAD TO GO JUST NOT UP TO SCRATCH
The biggest problem for me with the dance was the lack of emotion from Kaye. I didn't get the feeling of the tango for her. She wasn't telling the story of the dance, and therefore the whole routine was very unengaging. In addition to all of that, her frame was shaky and there were a lot of toe leads (which is a big no-no in ballroom, because every step forward should be taken from the heel). It needed much more sharpness, much more connection to the floor and as I've said, much more attack. For her next dance I would like Kaye to work on artistry, on her performance, on drawing the audience and the viewers into her dancing. My score: a 4.
