As a fellow guitarist, I can tell you this is a prime example of not needing all the notes & flashy techniques....you just need the right notes full of passion & a beautiful melody to reach into the listeners heart & embrace it. Beautiful track. Took me to scene in a Paris cafe in the 1920's. Beautifully played my brother.
I could listen to this all day. I Wish you were my neighbor. I’d keep my windows open always, just waiting for your magical melodies to float into my window. ❤
Yours is the first comment that I see & I could not have expressed it better. Exquisite & I feel the longing & the passion. From a 64 yr old Hungarian girl living in Melbourne, Australia. My beloved father played a gorgeous mean violin! He was fantastic! He'd have many garnerings of fellow Hungarians~ ge was very social, liked meeting people. I am exactly like him in this way also. He'd come in front of me, look me in the eyes and each time he would begin the evening's music & entertainment ~ he would serenade me with one tune. I cannot as yet give this tune a name, but this all seems to be strongly coming up for me of late with memories. 🌹🌿
I love how understated and subtle your playing is. You are so incredibly talented, but are confident enough in your abilities to never feel the need to overplay or rely unnecessarily on flashy technique where the style of the music doesn't warrant it. This makes you even more talented, to my ear. The entire Unchained Melodies album is stunning, and Lisbon is such a standout. Thank you for all the beauty!
This entire album is the epitome of gorgeous. This song has classic French vibes from yesteryear and a time gone by. The understated vibe of the video shows how people in France used to relish in the simple life, such as enjoying a sunny day at home (or a good coffee at an outdoor café in the prior song’s video). There are still people who value these things, but most people are too busy hurrying, working, staring at screens, and being preoccupied with other things to notice how beautiful life is when you slow down and take in the beauty around us. Guitar tabs for the rhythm and lead sections of the songs on this album would be highly appreciated for us guitar players who want to try learning the songs. I mean, an intermediate player should be able to figure out much of it by ear and watching you play, but the tabs would help to get some of those finer nuances with the techniques you’re using. I love the finger-style technique you’re using here to anchor your little finger on the high e string to get those faster notes (sounds like triplets that you seem to be alternate picking with your thumb?). A lot of the songs on this album seem quite doable for most guitarists to play, which is awesome. Thanks, Romain! This album and these accompanying videos are just such a beautiful gift you’ve given us!
This is so portuguese although i can hear a little bit of spanish, italian and greek influences!!!! A great hello from Portugal, Aveiro city. If you come to the north you have to stop in Aveiro
Lovely performance of my current favorite. Conjuring a lazy afternoon in a warm courtyard, wine, and red roses. Thanks for the romantic little trip to Lisbon. 🍷🌹💃 ❤
I agree so much!!! I recently did an apple music station of the ‘Radios killed the Blues’ (after my 25th time listening to it) I wasn’t head over heels over most of the songs, but then one really caught my attention. Pulled my phone out and sure enough, it was a Romain tune! Keep it up! When TBP re-emerges, you will all be so developed, that amazing things will happen. Love your varied output! Deeper themes, instrumentals, soft songs, rockers… keep it up… and don’t be afraid to get help from the reaction community and Ren to promote! It’s not wrong to want to grow and spread out and even money aint bad😂
I want to travel the world with Romain, on this musical adventure. I truly feel that you can delve into every culture and extract so much influence, creating your own sound, whilst painting a beautiful, audibly pleasing tapestry. Thank you once again, Romain.
Please don’t get offended by this, but…. I can finally play some of my UA-cam faves for my wife and kids!!!!! Added your album to our playlist “Board Games” lovely to listen to in the background while sipping red wine, enjoying a lazy summer evening outside, playing a game of backgammon with one of the kids, listening to the birds, feeling the soft breeze. ‘Elevator music’ is so underrated. You can make a serious living providing soothing backgrounds for people’s fond memories of real life. There is a guitarist named Phil Keaggy, now in his mid 70s, who I consider one of the greatest guitarists ever. However, he is not very famous, but he is super prolific. Of all the rock, blues, pop things he has ever done, his instrumental album from 1978, The Master and The Musician, is his best selling album. Not ground-breaking, but is perfect for background music. Not too repetitive like smooth jazz where it drives you crazy, but not too weird and dynamic like classical music where its hard to have consistency in the background. Sorry for the long comment: just some of my initial thoughts after listening to the entire album…
This is how the respected, wonderful and stylish musician plays the song from Lisbon. ☀️🏝️🧡 I always listen to this song with my eyes closed and headphones on. Thank you for being you♥️
I have just been transported back to my romantic days with my wife in Portugal many years ago, thank you so much for the trip, and it is only 7.22 in the morning, I will be floating all day with this beautiful piece of work.
It’s LOVE at first listen. A composition and performance from a composer and musician who can move one to tears and lull one into a bubble of delight and joy. Sweet and simply beautiful 🌹♥️🌹
You know what I find beautiful about the way you play? It the way you make the music sound like a love song of lyrics without words. You can feel the emotions in the sounds. Absolutely, beautiful too me. Thank you for sharing the beauty with the rest of us.
I live in a city now , I haven’t come here with a wish that I would make money here and go every year to mountains and have a cup of coffee with a woman I love but to see the poets who write the books , the musicians who creat the symphonies with the power of taking me anywhere in the world and you’re doing it man , you’re making me feel lively , I’m living in a better world since this morning Thank you ❤
I grew up in Lisbon, and your music has a nice ring of Fado à la Romain. I'm always impressed by how you keep the music "simple." I first discovered your music through a playlist that included "Paris," perhaps because of Ren. I didn't know then that you were in The Big Push. I immediately froze in front of the TV, captivated and analyzing your playing style and technique (I also play a bit of guitar), and stood there watching until the music was over. I thought ... nope he was lucky with that tune! Then I saw another video of yours, and another, and I thought, how can this guy create such music and maintain the consistency of these beautiful melodies? My kid also loves your music, so you're always in the house. Great style, great music, great artist!
I planned that 2 months ago and I am going to Lisbon tomorrow. This piece of art released today what a beautiful coincidence. My song of journey already made by Romain Axisa. Thanks a lot Romain. It hits different.
I was born last century. Picked up a Bass after Ed Sullivan and Paul M. I wished I could have heard you then. Whatever you went through to be so expressive with your music is NOMB... needless to say.. you and your compadres' interpretation of your surroundings is exquisite. I'm extremely happy to have been able to listen to your.... Music of the Spheres ❤❤❤ thank you.. oh by the way... The inside 7th's on Radio's killed... Is a profound statement.... Please continue to enlightened your audience. Age isn't just a number..... Thank you............ ❤
Romain you are truly a “musicians musician”. I can’t complement u enough. I’ve commented on your other tracks about your musicality & beautiful melodies. I just love how expressive your music is. That was gorgeous. Looking forward to more xx
Everything I've heard from this album so far feels like something I've known my whole life even though I'd never heard them before. Beautiful, as always.
It never ceases to amaze me that you can take me anywhere you choose just using your guitar, passion and talent! Thank you! I can’t wait to see where you take me next! 🙏🏼❤️🔥✌🏻🫶🏻
Your playing is incredibly evocative, elegant, and emotionally so resonant. (and I also saw you leave the earth while playing lead on I Shot the Sheriff... just wow) I can't say enough good about the breadth and mastery I hear in your playing. Bravo, Maestro!
I can't wait to hear how you see Lisbon - well, I'll find that out tomorrow when the album is out. But I can't wait to see it performed. Love the live videos. 🌞🌻💛
Can't wait. Thank you for the early birthday present you didn't know you were giving me. I can confidently say I love it already and am looking forward to listening to the whole album!
So beautiful how you let the strings of your guitar voice such emotion. This reminds me of sitting looking out over the hilltops from a cafe listening to Fardo music.
Paris, Vienna, Lisbon. Which lucky city next - Prague, Warsaw? This is a beautiful piece of music, Romain, and I'm sorry I missed the premiere (major time difference).
Beautiful tune, something about it feels really nostalgic, like it could be the soundtrack for happy memory flashbacks or old school classic cinema, can't quite put my finger on it. It's awesome ❤🔥❤🔥
Congratulations on your new album! It feels like you're traveling through Europe during a long, warm summer and you don't want it to come to an end. Thank you for sharing your talents with us. Love love love it!!! 🎶♥️💯

JJ Cale couldn't have said it better (my favourite)
From a portuguese guy living abroad, this music gave the "I'm home feeling". It translates very well the name of it. Amazing Romain
Thanks a lot, I am glad ❤️

Most of the time i'm worried about how much chord vocabularies and melody scales that i need to learn, to make a new arrangement. But after seeing this piece, now i believe that even simple clean melody and chord can put our emotion in ease, if it done correctly and neatly! Now i feel grateful of the current skill that i have, and i'll improve it more. Beautiful and inspiring performance.
