- In the trailer for House of the Dragon Season 2, we saw this new character who appears to have claimed a dragon. You might be wondering who this character is and which dragon they have claimed. In this video, I will explain who I think it is, which dragon they have claimed, and provide some theories surrounding Season 2.

House of the Dragon is an American fantasy drama television series created by George R. R. Martin and Ryan Condal for HBO. A prequel to Game of Thrones (2011-2019), it is the second television series in the A Song of Ice and Fire franchise. Condal and Miguel Sapochnik served as the showrunners for the first season. Based on parts of Martin's 2018 book Fire & Blood, the series begins about 100 years after the Seven Kingdoms are united by the Targaryen Conquest, nearly 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones, and 172 years before the birth of Daenerys Targaryen. Laenor will be known across the realms as Addam of Hull…it’s really the only true reason I can see for them keeping him alive
Addam is way too young though. He’s (exactly) 20 years younger than Laenor. You can’t really pass a 36 year old for a 16 year old outside of High School Musical lol
Unfortunately they'll have to retcon or have Laenor still die seeing as they have casted different actors for Addam and Alyn.

Please explain how the story of Daeron and Tessarion would unfold, as Tessarion would be an important dragon in future battles and it seems like they both have been cut from the show. I would love if you breakdown the events that would happen if Daeron and Tessarion are not casted.
I thought dragonseeds could only have Targaryen blood? If Addam is Corlys’ son, he shouldn’t be able to ride a dragon. If I know Velaryons and Targaryens have intermarried often, but if Corlys could claim a dragon for his own, he would have.
Velaryon's were Valeryian decent, the targaryens weren't the only dragon riders. The Velaryon's weren't really known for dragon riding, but they had Addam and Alyn try to tame dragons coz they are blood of Valeryia and tried to take the chance coz they desperate for more dragon riders to fight Vhagar and Aemond
Targaryens controlled who got to interact with unbonded dragons and eggs. Rhaenys' children got opportunities other Valerians like Corlys didn't. Maybe he could have claimed one if given the chance.

Addam and Alyn 's mother is the dragonseed as many of the dragonseeds are from Driftmark which is the closest inhabited island to Dragonstone
I've always said Addam is the Son of Laenor Velaryon.
And Nettles is most Probably Daemon's Daughter or Niece, with whom he doesn't share a Romantic Relationship lol.
This explains perfectly and exactly how and why they can and came to tame and ride the Dragons...
I like the idea of Nettles and Daemon not having a romantic relationship l. I think everyone expects that so a platonic love would be a nice twist.

Well he can't be related to corles because he doesn't have dragon rider blood Lenor mentions sleeping with women because when he says it's not for a lack of trying so it is possible the he I'd his son it could also explain the his age

@@pdxonewayLaenor Valaryon has dragon rider genes because of his mother. And Adam of Hull has no dragon rider genes because he is an bastard that has no dragon riding genes.

That dragon is definitely not Dreamfire as Helaena will be too distraught over her child's death. I am hoping that it is grey ghost since it pretty much dies a meaningless death in the books... killed my sunfire. Such a senseless death. I would love to see more of grey ghost. However, it is likely seasmoke and laenor.

They deviate so much from the actual story its hard to say. Its like that South Park episode where they need to change races and make people gay. It'll probably be Laenor coming back, thats why they drove home the whole "i wasnt the man you needed, i love those boys, etc" thing so they can set him up for his redemption arc and so his mom can have some good news.

To me, Leanor won't be made to die off-stage so Addam can reclaim Seasmoke because that wouldn't make sense.
For me Leanor could have a role in the return of Viserys in the book and it was Alyn Addam's younger brother who brought the prince back to his family but perhaps in the series it will be Leanor who brings him back or perhaps he will be the one who gives the information to Alyn about the fact that Viserys had survived the Battle of the Gullet.
But I will never understand why the hell Rheana never tried to claim a dragon yes I know she wasn't a warrior but it still made more sense that a Targaryen princess would try to claim a dragon rather than the first 4 idiots that pure plot armor did not let themselves be burned alive.
And I will never understand how two incompetents of the caliber of Hugh Hammer and Ulf the white managed to claim Vermithor and Silverwing.
Or always felt that not having Rheana claim a dragon and having Hugh and Ulf claim it is one of the biggest plot stretches within Fire and Blood
Rhaena did try to claim a dragon but the ones big enough to ride did not bond with her. She ended up bonding with a baby who still wasn’t big enough to ride by the time the war ended.
In fact in the book I don't see that Rheana even thought about claiming a dragon and even if she did she would have had to try again and again until she succeeded.
Dragons do not necessarily have to be claimed instantly but also by building it up little by little as happened with Sheepstealer and Nettles.
And in any case, even if he had always failed, the idea of having the first idiots who showed Valyrian characteristics claim dragons was still an idiotic plan in the book, proposed by Mushroom the court jester and this was a good reason not to listen to him.
It made more sense that they would look for new dragonriders among houses Celtigar and Velaryon who were loyal to Rheanyra rather than people who claimed to be bastards Baelon the brave in order to have any claim to the throne.
dragons choose their riders, aemond was called by vhaggar before he claimed her. he could hear her calls when others could not, and dragons also have specific characteristics they look for in every rider like for example vhaggar, balerion, and vermithor all had similar people claim them so maybe rheana not claiming a dragon was because daemon thought her about how a dragon claims you. just a theory. @@sergioconsonni2174
How would this Addam dude have Blood of the Dragon if he’s Corly’s bastard. Corlys isn’t a dragon rider and would get eaten alive if he tried to bond with one

Yeah they look just like the Targs(supposed to) but not all families can ride dragons. They changed so much.

Can someone tell me how if that character the son of corls, how's he's able to write a dragon if reanys was the 1 to introduce dragon riding ability into their children when she married him And if house valerian was able to still have access to dragon writing blood how come they don't all have dragon...sorry I'm just confused a bit
Anyone with Valaryrian blood/or Valaryrian descent can claim/ride a dragon.

We know Aegon and Viserys (later Aegon III and Viserys II) are Rheanyra's sons with Daemon.
The keep Laenor alive for no reason the Show writers are incompetent
Or to ward off people accusing them of using the hated “Bury Your Gays” trope. The show got quite a lot of hate on social media when Joffrey Lonmouth died in episode 5.
If they use this to add to the Canon about how dragon bonding works, it's a good addition
