Very good tutorial. Simple and to the point. Very clear to follow. The only problem I ran into was the correct format for the Portal home location. It took some adding ':443' to the full path in order to work. Thanks.

Aside from potential network issues while the utility is running, will it stop the portal, server, and data store services?

Thanks for the video! Just wondering if cache tile and tile cache are the same thing? at 1:17 you mentioned cache tile, is it just for storing the Scene Layers (3D)?

Fantastic video! You clearly helped make sense of something that ESRI documentation made very muddy! We have a 4 server setup for our Enterprise setup (Server, Portal, Data, and an IIS Web Server). I've done the webgisdr utility for a full backup, and I also made a copy of the "cache_tiles" and saved those, but I am not able to locate the "referenced _data_web" directly you pointed out. Could you let me know where I might be able to find those?
Appreciate any assistance and great information!

The "referenced_data_web" folder I referenced was just a 'dummy' folder I created to demonstrate how to backup a folder with data that is a referenced data store for ArcGIS Server. These folders might contain file geodatabases with data that is referenced with the ArcGIS Server as a data store, could be print layout templates also registered with ArcGIS Server or just a file location that holds data to serve web services from. In addition, it's important to note that if the referenced data sources for web services are served from a database then you would use the tools of the database management system (i.e. SQL Server Management Studio) to create a backup of the database that is serving the web services as a referenced data store in ArcGIS Server. To find the data stores that need to be backed up seperately head to ArcGIS Server Manager > Site tab > Data Stores to see the databases, folders, and cloud stores that are registered data stores with ArcGIS Server.

How do I structure the webgisdr language in NotePad to correctly point to the temp and backup folders I'm trying to read/write to? I have a multi machine system that all have access to the location but I don't think I'm writing the file path using the right syntax. I keep getting this error when running in the command prompt: "Cannot access the location"

      1) The first recommendation I would make, and not knowing how you are calling out the temp and backup locations, is to use the full network share name rather than a letter drive. In order for letter drives to work they need to be mapped correctly and consistently on each machine, and even then there can be some intermittent issues. To use the full network share it should look like "\\\\my-networksharename\\parentfolder\\gisfolder\\etc\etc".
      2) The second recommendation I can make, and as you can see in my example, is to escape any backslashes in the path. So, file server (NAS) structure should look like above and letter drives like: "D:\\gisfolder\etc".
      3) And finally, my last recommendation beyond syntax would be to ensure that all the pertinent users have correct permissionss to read/write to that location. Ensure that the account that is running each ArcGIS software component services (portal, data store, server) are all the same domain user and that that user has read/write access to the location you are trying to read/write to. In addition to the user running the software service, the user that actually runs the #webgisdr utility also needs to have read/write access to that location.
Hope that helps, feel free to follow up if running into any more issues.
