Harry wrote all of the songs, most of them with his guitarist, Mitch Rowland. Harry just did a live performance at Jingle Ball, if you want to watch some more of him live Then in 2017 (i think) he did perform Carolina and Woman live at the bbc show he did, its on youtube. There are some rockier songs by one direction, and i recommend checking out the live versions: midnight memories, little black dress, clouds, no control, alive, and more that i cannot remember right now haha. Love your reactions. I truly love your enthusiam when it comes to Harry, he deserves more fans like you! P.s. Harry was 16 when one direction was formed!
It's official: you're a Harrie. Welcome, be comfortable, buy tickets and stay hydrated. Thank you so much for doing this, I really couldn't wait for your reaction. Let's all go crazy Friday with Fine Line :)
when you said carolina, woman, and only angel were your favorites i was like YAAAASSS! i feel like they don’t get enough credit and those 3 have always been my fav
No, One Direction didn't do this kind of music, but you'll know Harry's voice when you hear it. You should listen to Drag Me Down, Harry killed it at the end. Also on Infinity, he nailed it.
Basically made in the am was HS0..... He kind of shadowed others on that ..... No offence, I really love one direction and all of them are really good as solo artists though I'm more into Harry and Niall's work, but that album was nothing like the rest . It had so much different sound .... And Harry made some of the best ones on that album.
He wrote every single song ! He always said that he likes to be part of the creative process of a song, so it still being personal for him, his songwriting is such an amazing thing, he even had wrote some songs for other artists, one of them is Just A Little Bit Of Your Heart by Ariana Grande ! Actually on a recent interview he said that he finds writing really therapeutic
If you have Apple Music you should watch behind the album and the performances. You would love them.!! I’m not even saying it for you to react to, just I think you would enjoy watching them! You should also watch Harry Styles king of entertains the crowd just for a good laugh. There are 4 parts and his is sooooooo funny! It’s a whole other side of him!
Harry was 16 when he first got famous which is crazy to think about, and I have supported a lot of artists but hands down Harry styles is the most down to earth and genuine person 💞
Steven, this album did not receive the recognition it deserved. Why Sign of the Times was not up for a Grammy is a mystery!!! Such a shame. Oh and Steven, have you bought your tickets for Harry’s next tour yet? I live in New Jersey but I am seeing him and Louis Tomlinson in Philadelphia next year 6 days apart!!!!
please listen to from the dining table with good headphones, because there are actually (at least i think so) two vocal recordings of him, one in each ear, and it gives the song even more emotion and depth.
Dude it’s like watching a recording of me when I discovered Harry’s music. I was like “okay, I like this one..”, then “ okay, this one is good too” and it was the same reaction for each. I haven’t stopped listening to it ever since, he’s just so magnetic and you can’t get enough of his music, fashion and persona. I’m so excited for Fine Line! I’m so thankful we’re living the start of a music legend 👌🏽
medicine is an unreleased song that he performed at every show on his 2018 tour but he’s never recorded it and it is not going to be on fine line- just an awesome live song that we can look back on fondly
As a 43 years old fan I love that you gave him a chance since many dint bc he was in a boybanf. my sister fir instance makes fun of me for liking him and she never listened to him. His album is amazing. I saw him live and awww and I will see him again. He is trully underated.
He wrote all of them. He said so himself and you could actually tell that by how personal the lyrics were and obviously for some artists especially one like Harry, he always respects and credits anybody who makes or suggests any changes to the songs no matter how little it was.
With from the dining table he often follows the last : “maybe one day you’ll call me and tell me that your sorry too, but you you never do” up with a very sad “do you?” And that just breaks your heart.
he did say recently that with his first album he really didn't want to get it wrong and felt like he was bowling with the sides up and with his new album he just wrote what he wanted and what he liked and just had fun with it
I'd love to see your reaction to fine line especially how you feel like he's evolved from the first album. For me with Lights Up i can hear a bit of meet me in the hallway and woman.
This album made it to best albums of the decade by the rolling stone and sign of the times made it also to great or best song of the decade by rolling stone.
I love this album so much, it made me discover Harry. Like someone else said, it's a rare no skip album, I love every single song - no matter if it's faster rock song or folk ballad or whatever else, there's a common, amazing vibe through all of them. Personally I have to admit I like his first album much better than his newer songs, but it seems a lot of people prefer the new, more radio friendly, contemporary pop sound to the vintage inspired folk and rock sound of his first album.
Love your reaction! This is a no skip album for me, which I find rare. You should check out his documentary behind the album: the performances, on Apple Music. Ever since New York hits differently live, you might prefer it that way. Looking forward to your reaction to Fine Line ☺️
I would also suggest if you ever decided to listen to 1D to start in the beginning so you can hear how they evolve. The first 2 albums are pretty bubble gum pop but it doesn’t not stay that way!
Sky Blue I actually couldn’t stand 1D in the beginning. However as their voices matured and got more say in the songs, Made in the AM is one of my fave albums. Not a bad song on entire album. (Still can’t listen to first 3 albums - except Story of My Life); Four has 2/3 that I like; but MITAM is AMAZING!!!!
Sula TheNewfie I have a few songs on the first 2 that I really like and I like pretty much everything on MM, Four and MITAM. But I know there earlier stuff is not for everyone
Ever Since New York is one of my faves in the album, although I'm having really hard time ranking them that way. They're all unique and they grab onto you mind and stay there for days. I've never memorized 22 songs just in 1 week so easily:) Harry's stuff is everything I love about music, all the genres I ever loved, growing up and as an adult. All came in one album. Perfection.
Loved you reaction so much this album is a masterpiece and is a debut album so its crazy He has a documentary on Apple that is also available in a website called daylimotion that's called 'Harry Styles: behind the album' that shows the creative process behind it with performances on Abbey Road. From what I understand he helps write all of his songs or writes them on his own and sometimes they finish a song in a handful of hours which is kind of mind blowing.
Absolutely loved Jet!! I remember first hearing them in the Apple commercial. Immediately listened to the whole album. Still love it, but can’t compare with Harry’s album. Harry uses so much variety and it’s an entire experience. It’s a perfect album.

I wish that there had been a deluxe album too!! Unfortunately Medicine and Anna were only done on the second leg of his tour of this album. I saw him at Radio City Music Hall and he didn’t perform them there so I missed out on seeing him perform them live. But Steven, he changed up the style to What Makes You Beautiful and performed it every night on tour....I am 55 and I love how he sings it; it is so cool!!! You should check that out. Also, I would love to see you check out One Direction’s fourth and fifth albums called Four and Made in the A.M. I really think you would enjoy them especially since the boys were doing the majority of the writing. Thanks again for this reaction. Your enthusiasm is contagious!!!
For One Direction, Made in the AM has the best individual songs by far and it’s their least “poppy” LP, but Four is a more cohesive album and flows better imo
