  • Happy New Year!!
Kicking the year off with a new series on the channel entitled "Short Stories."
This episode is all about the "Birds In Flight" image I made back in 2016 on the Minolta AFS-V. The image comes with a humorous story, and a bit of background as to how it helped to catapult me forward in my photographic career and interaction with the community.
As a bonus I also share the story of how I got trapped in an elevator for 25 minutes while filming some b-roll for the video.
I hope you enjoy the stories, and are encouraged by the content!!

Always loved that photo of yours. I think it’s really the white cloud in the background that pushes it to excellence.
I don’t have a story about one photo of mine that opened doors to an artistic path or opportunity, but I have plenty where the photo despite being “pretty good” made me realize the opposite- that this type of photography or style was not for me. All good lessons to learn.

Ah that is a great lesson to learn! Sometimes knowing what we don’t want to shoot is the best way of honing in on what we are passionate about. Thanks for the kind words, my friend! I miss seeing you and hope some day soon to make it back out that way, and we can catch up.

As you well know I've waited for plenty of pigeon related masterpieces but the one that I distinctly remember sitting and waiting for is my umbrella scene at Canal st. It was completely down pouring not a dry spot in sight and the photo is overall chaos but everything came together in that one frame as people ran to their destination.

Haha. Thank you. Our basement was finished in it. It really is quite beautiful. Feels like a retreat cabin right in our own home.

Thank you! I used shopify for a few years. It worked wonderfully. But squarespace is a great way of going about sales and displaying your work as well. I don’t think you would go wrong with either.
