I love a lot of what the Fairphone team is doing, but my biggest problems with the Fairphone 5 are the lack of a headphone jack (a bit contradictory to their message in my opinion) and the size. If the phone had a headphone jack and was around 20% to 25% smaller it would've been perfect.

Not sold in the US, doesn't have all the bands that carriers have. Also carriers have to be white listed to work. This phone is missing critical bands, no band 13 for Verizon, no N29 or N30, no band 14 at all for AT&T. Wouldn't recommend for US users. Customer service is basically non existent. I like the idea of Fair Phone but there are a lot of issues since it's basically a European country only. What if in the US and have this phone and need new parts you have to import them which is inconvenient and does more damage to the environment. Totally defeats their more environmental goals. If their goal is so important then why are they not in the US market which they could have many more users.

I wana see your product in Morocco

Fairphone makes big mistak. Not making it more privacy oriented. You guys should do what Murena are doing. And what Purism Librem 5 tried to be. That's the only markedet i can se you guys grow.

fairphone brand should change its corporate structure to a cooperative structure(every employee will have the democratic power to vote for their benefit) to be fair.

I've owned the FP5 since it came out. Am really happy with it, I used to own the original crowd funded FP1 10 years ago as well 🙂

From rootable, flashable hardware with a relockable bootloader, to external sd support, to independently modular components; Fairphone is truly a phone for adults. Please never change!

Nice to get some questions answered! I'll take the liberty to ask some myself:

I really appreciate what Fairphone is working towards. I hope for more support of various degoogled os's, and maybe a way to upgrade various components in the future without having to upgrade the entire phone (like what Framework is doing). I'm looking seriously at importing the international version and installing e/os now that the easy installer supports the FP5.

This sounds very interesting, I like the prospect that I can upgrade parts of the phone. I work outdoors a lot of the time. My experience has meant, I have damaged a number of phones, as well as some so called weather proof. What kind of protective cases could I use on this phone

  • @MarcelaoVMS

I really would like a fairphone with bigger screen 7'' and at least with 512gb internal memory and also 12gb ram.

  • @heroninja1125

Honestly, the only thing I could ask for is the headphone jack back, and for shipping to be available in Canada.
